The Last Dragonborn, also known simply as the Dragonborn or Dovahkiin, and referred to as Ysmir, Dragon of the North, or Qahnaarin, is the hero prophesied in the ancient Prophecy of the Dragonborn inscribed on Alduin's Wall. In 4E 201, the Dragonborn arrived in Skyrim and, with assistance from the last of the Blades and the Greybeards, fulfilled their destiny by putting an end to the renewed dragon threat and defeating Alduin the World-Eater. That same year, the Dragonborn also recovered lost Elder Scrolls to thwart a vampiric plan to permanently darken the sun and traveled to Solstheim to stop the resurgence of Miraak, the First Dragonborn, while aiding Frea, a Skaal, in saving Skaal Village. The Dragonborn assisted Ri'saad in addressing bandit raids, which led to the discovery and defeat of Thoron beneath Solitude. They uncovered the resurgence of the Mythic Dawn and vanquished Vonos. Additionally, they earned the title of thane in each of Skyrim's holds. The Dragonborn chose a side in the Civil War and overthrew the opposing faction. They joined the Companions, rose to the rank of Harbinger, and later cured themselves of Lycanthropy. After joining the College of Winterhold, they stopped Ancano's dangerous schemes with the help of Tolfdir and were appointed Arch-Mage. The Dragonborn joined Riften's Thieves Guild, collaborated with Brynjolf and Karliah to bring down Mercer Frey, and eventually became the Guildmaster. They also joined the Dark Brotherhood and assumed the role of Listener. The Dragonborn became a member of the Tribunal Temple and defeated Erden Relvel. They joined the Bards College and helped Viarmo persuade Jarl Elisif to reinstate the Burning of King Olaf festival. The Dragonborn aligned with the Silver-Blood family and eradicated Madanach along with his Forsworn in Cidhna Mine. They also dismantled a Namira-worshiping cult that posed a threat to Markarth. Additionally, they helped Erandur end Vaermina's curse of nightmares affecting Dawnstar and assisted the werewolf Sinding in dealing with hunters sent by Hircine. The Dragonborn supported Neloth with his research and became a member of House Telvanni. They later aided Viriya and honed their fishing skills under the guidance of Swims-In-Deep-Water, ultimately earning the title of legendary fisherman. They also inherited the mantle of the Gray Fox from Pjofr Ice-Blade. The Dragonborn would eventually marry and adopt children, building a family.
