Blood-KinEdit

Only Orc characters have immediate access to the strongholds unchallenged. Characters of any other race must first become Blood-Kin of the Orcs before being welcome in the strongholds. You can enter a stronghold without being Blood-Kin, but everyone will continuously tell you that you are not welcome, and you are unable to trade with any merchants in the stronghold.

There are several quests that fulfill this requirement. Members of any stronghold you approach may give you the quest The Forgemaster's Fingers if you have not become Blood-Kin already. However, if you complete any quests on the following list before receiving the quest The Forgemaster's Fingers, you will not have access to that quest. Completing any of the following quests will still give you access to Orc Strongholds as Blood-Kin and will have no related repercussions.

Quest Location Grateful Orc
Coated in Blood Markarth Moth gro-Bagol
The Cursed Tribe Largashbur Gularzob
Fetch me that Book! College of Winterhold Urag gro-Shub
Kolskeggr Mine Left Hand Mine Gat gro-Shargakh
Sanuarach Mine Karthwasten Lash gra-Dushnikh
Skilled Apprenticeship Markarth Ghorza gra-Bagol
Mine Ore (Iron) Shor's Stone Grogmar gro-Burzag
Prophet Fort Dawnguard Durak

Completing any of these quests will have the grateful Orc say, "For your help, I'm sending word to the Orc strongholds that you're to be trusted. You should be welcome there now.", signifying that you are now Blood-Kin.
