Skaal Village is a small village on Solstheim.
The village is home to the Skaal tribe, who strive to live in harmony with nature in accordance with their worship of the All-Maker. They live a simple existence in the frozen north of Solstheim, subsisting on hunting and minor agriculture, but are also familiar with the secrets of forging stalhrim.
The village's eight buildings circle the central well, with a communal tanning rack and a meat preparation shed sheltering a cooking pot on either side of the well. All other crafting stations are found outside the houses of Baldor Iron-Shaper, Deor Woodcutter, and Edla. Chief Fanari Strong-Voice's imposing greathall and shaman Storn Crag-Strider's more modest hut are at the east end of the village, while the remaining residents' homes are to the west and north.

NotesEdit
- Next to the village cooking pot hangs a unique dead horker.
- Next to the village cooking pot is an unusable bedroll. The closest places to sleep are Haknir's Shoal to the north-northwest, Bujold's Retreat to the south-southeast, or Thirsk Mead Hall to the south-southwest, depending on your progress in the quests Retaking Thirsk or The Chief of Thirsk Hall.
- Skaal Village also appears in Bloodmoon. In Bloodmoon, the village has a unique architectural style similar to Thirsk. However, in Dragonborn, Thirsk still looks visually distinct, while the buildings in Skaal Village are repurposed from Whiterun, albeit with an added layer of snow on the roofs.
BugsEdit
- The village residents will never sleep, as all beds in the village are incorrectly owned by Crescius Caerellius in Raven Rock.
- The Unofficial Dragonborn Patch, version 1.0.5, fixes this bug.
- The village residents have crime detection and will call for guards if they witness a crime. However, they do not actually have guards or a jail and have no way of arresting you.
