Viriya is a retired Redguard adventuress who works at the Riften Fishery, where she handles special fishing requests and attempts to breed mudcrabs in the hope of selling their meat on the town's market. She is the main person you interact with in the Fishing creation along with Swims-In-Deep-Water. She wields an Alik'ri Fishing Rod. After her quest to retrieve a juvenile Mudcrab, it will accompany her as a pet named Snippy.

This quest can be started after No Contest has been completed by talking to Viriya:
- Know of anyone in need of fishing work around Skyrim?
- "Maybe you can help me. You're headed to Dawnstar. It's all in this note. This won't be easy, but that's why I'm sending you. Think you can handle it?"
- I'm always up for one of your crab dilemmas. / Just point me toward something with claws, and I'll make it dead.
- "Thanks."
Returning to Viriya to speak to her:
- The mudcrabs have been slain. They were driven into a fury by a necromancer.
- "We sure show them, eh? Thanks for your part in all that."
- Seviur drew them to the coast using magic, but he lost control over them.
- "I understand. I've come to rely on you. There's something I want you to have. It was my father's. It would be my honor if you carried it. May the gods keep you."
- This Alik'ri rod is fit for a master fisherman. Thank you, Viriya.
- "Stay sharp out there."

- Here's everything you'll need to build a stall in the plaza.
- "By the Gods. I don't even know what to say."
- I'll stop by the plaza tomorrow once you've gotten everything set up.
Wait for 24 hours. After that time goes by visit her new market stall in the Plaza. She’ll thank you for helping her with her dream job and will commence to give you an enchanted amulet named “Viriya’s Charm:
