Overload: Charge your fists with the power of the storm, replacing your Light and Heavy Attacks with new, stronger abilities. Light Attacks become lightning bolts, dealing [6149 / 6216 / 6283 / 6352] Shock Damage to an enemy up to 28 meters away. Heavy Attacks blast enemies in a 4 x 6 area for [5533 / 5594 / 5654 / 5715] Shock Damage. Attacks deplete Ultimate until you run out, or the ability is toggled off.
Power Overload: Charge your fists with the power of the storm, replacing your Light and Heavy Attacks with new, stronger abilities. Light Attacks become lightning bolts, dealing [6988 / 7065 / 7141 / 7217] Shock Damage to an enemy up to 32 meters away. Heavy Attacks blast enemies in a 6 x 8 area for [6290 / 6358 / 6428 / 6496] Shock Damage. Attacks deplete Ultimate until you run out, or the ability is toggled off.
Energy Overload: Charge your fists with the power of the storm, replacing your Light and Heavy Attacks with new, stronger abilities. Light Attacks become lightning bolts, dealing [6351 / 6421 / 6491 / 6560] Shock Damage to an enemy up to 28 meters away. Heavy Attacks blast enemies in a 4 x 6 area for [5716 / 5779 / 5842 / 5904] Shock Damage. The attacks restore [1110 / 1140 / 1170 / 1200] Magicka and Stamina, and deplete Ultimate until you run out, or the ability is toggled off.

Overload applies Shock Damage to all standard light and heavy attacks for the duration of the effect. The light attack affects a single target (at a range, regardless of your equipped weapon), while a heavy attack hits all enemies in front of you. The heavy attack can be held down for a continuous attack until you run out of Ultimate. Power Overload increases the attack range and damage done, while Energy Overload restores Magicka and Stamina with each attack.

NotesEdit

  • This ability was reworked in Update 20. Prior to this update:
    • When activating Overload, you would gain an additional skill bar that can only be modified while Overload was active. You could use any skills except for weapon skills on this bar. Note that just like your weapon-swap bar, any toggle-type skills (such as summons) had to be in the same slot on both your normal and Overload skill bars, or they would be cancelled when you switched between normal and Overload mode.
    • You could not use your weapon-swap while Overload was active. Any passive bonuses from your equipped weapon would also be disabled. Set bonuses from weapons and/or shield would still apply, however.
  • Unlike other Ultimate abilities, Overload does not fully empty your Ultimate pool, it only subtracts a small amount of Ultimate for each light attack, or drains slowly over time while performing a heavy attack.

Patch NotesEdit

  • Significantly increased the light attack damage and cost for this ability. Ride the lightning!
  • Power Overload: This no longer uses the same ability bar as the werewolf.
  • You will now turn to face your target when attacking with this ability. We also fixed an issue where your weapon would occasionally still appear in your hands while this ability was active.
  • Reduced the initial cost of Overload and its morphs to 75 Ultimate from 125 Ultimate.
  • Increased the damage of Overload light attacks by 50%.
  • Reduced the rank up bonus damage for this ability from 3% to 1%.
  • Overload and Power Overload will now properly scale their damage off Weapon Damage and Stamina in the event that they are higher than Spell Power and Magicka.
  • Shrouded Armor: Fixed an issue where you could toggle Overload on and off repeatedly to heal yourself for large amounts with this item set. The heal on this item set now has a short cooldown.
  • Power Overload: Fixed an issue where Rank IV of this morph was not gaining a damage bonus.
  • Fixed an issue where the Heavy Attack from this ability and its morphs could not proc Weapon Enchantments or Poisons.
  • Added an error message when trying to weapon swap as a Werewolf or with Overload active.
  • This ability and its morphs no longer grant a third ability bar when toggled on.
  • Weapon abilities can now be used while in Overload mode, and are no longer hidden.
  • You can no longer generate any Ultimate while this ability is toggled on.
  • You can now toggle this on when you have 25 Ultimate or more, previously 75 Ultimate.
  • Light and Heavy Attacks are now off the global cooldown and can be woven with other abilities.
  • Decreased the damage of the Light Attack by approximately 50%.
  • Increased the damage of the Heavy Attack by approximately 60%.
  • Power Overload: This morph now specifies the bonus range and radius for the Light and Heavy Attacks.
    • Developer Comment: We want Sorcerers to feel like they have access to their full arsenal while in Overload mode. This ability is updated to better integrate with other abilities. As soon as you Overload light attack you can cast an ability, just like the light attacks of any other weapon set.
  • Your weapon will no longer be visible while you are casting a Light or Heavy Attack while this ability or its morphs are toggled on.
  • Fixed an issue where these abilities' Heavy Attacks would not benefit from Ultimate cost reduction.
  • Energy Overload: Fixed an issue where the Magicka return from this morph would fail to fire if the ability was reflected.
  • This ability and its morphs will now properly scale with Staff Expert in the Champion Point system. Also updated the tooltip for this ability and its morphs to better describe functionality.
  • Power Overload: Increased the damage dealt of Light and Heavy Attack override by 10% to improve the morph distinction.
  • The hitbox for these ability's Heavy Attack will now properly update when fighting Dragons.
  • Fixed an issue where the Heavy Attack augment from these abilities was not gaining the 70% damage increase from Heavy Attacking Off-Balance enemies.
  • The Heavy Attack from this ability and its morphs can no longer be interrupted.
  • Fixed an issue where toggling this ability would dismount you, and updated many sets to properly key off Overload and its morphs where they stated they required Heavy Attacks.
  • Fixed numerous visual issues with this Ultimate and its morphs, such as causing your weapons to appear hidden longer than intended, or some cases where the effects could get stuck on your character. Casting any other Ultimate while this Ultimate or its morphs are toggled on will now cause this Ultimate to untoggle.
  • Energy Overload (morph): Fixed an issue where the Magicka restore from this morph would fire even if your Light or Heavy Attack failed to deal damage.
  • Fixed an issue where the Heavy Attack from this Ultimate and its morphs could return as Damage over Time in some cases.
  • Light Attacks from this Ultimate and morphs now break Stealth when cast. There is nothing sneaky about lobbing giant bolts of lightning at your foes.
  • Energy Overload (morph): This morph now restores up to 1200 Magicka and Stamina, rather than up to 1192 Magicka. The restore now happens any time you use the Light or Heavy Attacks, rather than only when they deal damage.
  • Fixed an issue where this Ultimate and its morphs would not remove themselves when Heavy Attacking with just enough Ultimate for 1 tick.
