Vvardenfell is the home of several races, each with their own abilities, skills, and powers. Every race has a home province from which they originate.
Gender has a small effect on how stat points are spread out when choosing any particular race.

- Running speed is directly influenced by Weight, meaning heavier characters will move faster than lighter ones despite having the same Speed attribute. Unlike in the later games, Height has no effect on running speed. Height does, however, influence the speed with which a character moves upwards or downwards while swimming or levitating.
