Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Take the FortEdit
Upon arriving at Bangkorai Garrison, you will find High King Emeric and his troops already stationed outside the walls. To avoid having to scale the walls, Emeric requests that you sneak into the gatehouse and open the northern main gate for his army. To get inside the garrison, you must traverse the sewers. This is a short dungeon crawl filled with Imperial troops and a few skeevers. Note that the exit is one-way, so make sure you hit the switch to open the gate before you leave the sewers!
Once you've opened the gates, exit out to the courtyard and speak with Emeric. He will order you to assault the barracks and rescue any Covenant troops being held prisoner there. Fight your way through the Imperials, and use the levers to release the captured knights. Before leaving, one of them will request that you kill Commander Attius. He is just down the hall and around the corner. Be sure to read his orders before departing; they reveal further danger. With that done, leave the barracks and speak again with Emeric. He will reveal that the remaining Imperial forces are holed up in the Royal Crypts, and will confirm what you gleaned from Attius' orders: they are performing necromancy on the corpses of past kings interred there.
A Dark PactEdit
To reach the crypts, you must storm across the bridge, which is fortified by legionaries, in addition to daedroths on the far side. The crypt itself is filled with even more such enemies, plus groups of banekin. At the end of the crypt, you will find the Imperial necromancer, Battlemage Papus. Septima Tharn is present only in the form of a projection. You'll hear Molag Bal's voice booming as well. Defeat the battlemage and return outside.
Upon exiting the crypts, Molag Bal will attempt to put an end to the Covenant takeover by opening a Dark Anchor above the garrison. Emeric will ask you to deal with it, although, unlike regular dolmens, it has no pinions. The Anchor is guarded by the Xivilai Moath, who must be banished to release it. Afterwards, Emeric will give a brief speech to the remaining troops. Speak to Queen Arzhela outside the southern gate for your reward.
NotesEdit
- It's possible to exit into the garrison from the gatehouse without pulling the lever to open the north gate. However, once inside the garrison, the door to the gatehouse can't be used to enter again, requiring you to exit the garrison (through the north gate, which is somehow now unlocked) and to go through the sewers again.
- The king's troops will appear inside the garrison, even if you exit the gatehouse without pulling the lever.
- Getting hit by Imperial Mages' fireballs shot from the battlements doesn't inflict damage on you.
- Commander Attius won't exist in his office down the hall from the cells before the prisoners are freed.
- The projection of Septima Tharn in the crypt has a "Talk" prompt when approached, but nothing occurs when using it.
- Once the Dark Anchor is planted in the garrison, it becomes impossible to exit it via the gates until the anchor is dealt with.
- While the objective description for the Dark Anchor states to defeat the "minions" plural, only Moath will appear and need to be defeated to complete the objective.
Quest StagesEdit
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
