Online:Crown Crates

< Elder Scrolls Online: Crown Store(Redirected from Online:Crown Gems)
The Crown Crate UI

Crown Crates are item bundles obtainable from the Crown Store containing four or five collectibles and utility items randomly chosen from a certain pool. Crown Crates are opened from the Crown Crate UI (default key: F3), which summons Pacrooti. Opening a Crate will result in Pacrooti dealing four (or rarely five) cards, which can then be turned over to reveal your rewards. "Preview Crates" grant only three rewards. The pool of possible rewards is called a "Season", and these cycle quarterly.

Crates can be bought individually for 00400400 Crowns, in a pack of 4 for 015001,500 Crowns, or in a pack of 15 for 050005,000 Crowns. The 15-pack is occasionally discounted for ESO Plus subscribers. Beginning with the Ragebound Crates, a one-time purchase of a 25-pack and polymorph bundle was available for 080008,000 Crowns.

The introduction of Endeavors brought with it the possibility of purchasing Crown Crate items with vor]]Seals of Endeavor Seals of Endeavor, earned by doing certain in-game activities.

Drop RatesEdit

The following are the percentage chances of obtaining certain drops as published in the in-game help menu:

  • Common Rewards: 98%
  • Fine Rewards: 72%
  • Superior Rewards: 86%
  • Epic Rewards: 21%
  • Legendary Rewards: 14%
  • Apex Rewards: 2%

The odds of obtaining a Radiant Apex is lower and is included in the 2% figure. Some types of Crates do not contain Radiants.

On some rewards, chances improve with each successive missed roll and resets once you receive the reward.

Gem ExtractionEdit

GemsCrown Gems   are an account-wide currency that can be used to buy Crate rewards directly from the Crown Store. They are treated as items by the UI when obtained, but will only show up in the Crown Store. There are two ways of obtaining Gems:

  • If a Crown Crate contains a collectible you already own, Crown Gems will automatically be extracted. You cannot, however, extract Gems from collectibles you don't want.
  • Crown Gems can be extracted from unwanted consumables and furniture at any time through the Crown Crate UI. You can only extract consumables obtained via Crown Crates; identical items bought through the Crown Store cannot be converted.

Gems can then be spent in the Crown Store to obtain specific items from the current Season. These are divided into price tiers, as indicated on the individual crate theme pages. Some items cannot be bought with Gems and must be obtained through Crates.

NotesEdit

  • The symbol featured on Crown Crates is that of the Gold Coast Trading Company, hence why the Experience Scrolls, Elixirs, and Poisons have "Gold Coast" written in front of them.
  • Radiant Apex mounts and the Grand and Major XP scrolls could originally only be won in crates; they could not be bought separately from the Gem Store.
  • Many of the Crown Crate card backs appear (with a different symbol in the center) in Legends as Card Backs.
  • A great many possible Crate rewards have been datamined, most of which have yet to appear in any Crates.
