The first time you approach him, you may hear him exclaiming:

"Exotic locales? No, no, that's so wrong!"

You can talk to him:

"Large bugs. Yes. And what trip to Vvardenfell would be complete without … larger mushrooms? Damn, damn, damn!
Sorry. I'm just … well, frankly, I'm cracking my acorns trying to write a decent travel brochure. Not as easy as it sounds. Trust me."
What's the problem, exactly?
"Specificity, chum. Specificity is the problem.
I've wandered the streets of Shimmerene. I've explored the cantons of Vivec City. But there's a whole wide world outside the city walls. Danger! Excitement! Scenic splendor! That's what people want!"
Why can't you explore the wilds yourself?
"Why can't I—? Look at me! I'm like a malnourished ferret! You though ….
How about this: if you bring me some solid tales about the wilds of Summerset, Vvardenfell, Clockwork City, and Artaeum, I'll cut you in on my earnings. What do you say?"
Sure. I can explore the wilds and bring back some details for your brochure.
"I travel around quite a bit, but always make my way back to the Impresario's camp eventually. If you're looking for me, that's where you'll find me.
Y'ffre protect you, mate!"
Why are you interested in Summerset, Vvardenfell, Clockwork City, and Artaeum specifically?
"Off the record, I hear they're all in a spot of trouble. Daedric mischief, you see? You didn't hear that from me.
To be honest, I don't have the first idea how someone would even get to half of these places, but they might not be around much longer!"

Under certain circumstances (specifics needed), you can also ask:

Do you know anything more about this Daedric threat?
"Well, look, I'm just a travel writer. Take all of this with a grain of salt, all right?
I heard a trio of the worst sort of Daedra struck some kind of bargain. They mean to split Tamriel up like a guar-liver pie, starting with these locales."
Sounds like trouble.
"Aye. The sort of trouble you could probably lend a hand with, eh? Not that I'm telling you what to do, mind!
As long as you get around to my business eventually, you can cross swords with ancient evils all you like!"

If you have completed some of the quests for the Daedric War storyline (specifics needed), you can say:

I might know a little something about this.
"You don't say? Well, let me put some of this down!
Spit it out, mate! What have you heard?"

The responses you can give to this question, will depend on your previous experiences:

Nocturnal made a play for the Clockwork City, but my allies and I stopped her and saved Sotha Sil.
"Sotha Sil? That Dark Elf wizard...er, god, or whatever? Y'ffre's bones, I thought he was dead. Or that he was made up. One or the other.
I can't believe you met him! Should make this business a bit easier, eh? Friends in high places and all that."
There's more.
"Is that right? Well, go on. I'm all ears!"
I saved Vivec from a plot to drain his power and pass it to Clavicus Vile.
"Wait, was that why that huge rock over Vivec City went crackers for a while? It was, wasn't it?
Well, top marks, mate. Would have been a shame to see that shiny new city blown to bits … even though some of those Ordinators sort of deserve it."
I know a bit more, if you're interested.
"Ha! Does a shalk go mad on birckle moss? It … it does. Go on."
I prevented Nocturnal's assault on the Crystal Tower and brokered a truce with her allies.
"Well, I understand about half of that. It sounds extremely heroic though. I'm assuming Nocturnal taking over that High Elf tower would have been trouble. So, thank you?"
I can tell you more, if you'd like.
"Of course! I'd love to hear all about it!"

You can then travel to the various locations and complete the quest objectives, gaining stories to bring back to Calonir.

"Ah, you're back! Excellent! And no worse for the wear, I see. I'm not surprised.
So? Tell me, how did your adventures in Vvardenfell, Summerset, and such treat you? You've got plenty of tales to tell, I'm sure!"
I gathered plenty of details for your brochure. <Describe your adventures.>
"Y'ffre's bones! Quite an array of daring deeds and gorgeous sights! This is just the sort of thing that my readers are looking for.
Now then—an honest day's pay for an honest day's work! Safe travels, mate, and thanks again!"

Once you have finished the quest, you can ask Calonir some more questions:

"I've got a lot of writing to do. Figure I'll spend some more time here with the Impressario. Interesting people pass through here all the time, and she's not hard on the eyes either!"
You said you wanted more information?
"Always! Whatever details you have to spare!
Did you discover anything particularly noteworthy? Any unforgettable experiences? I'll add them to my notes."
I defeated an extremely powerful creature. Your readers should avoid these locations.
"Spoken like a true hero! I'll tell you, mate—that's exactly the sort of thing my readers want to know.
I hope you had help. Oh, what am I saying? A warrior like you could probably kill a hundred of these things without breaking a sweat."
I'll let you get back to work.
Why are you interested in Summerset, Vvardenfell, Clockwork City, and Artaeum specifically?
"Off the record, I hear they're all in a spot of trouble. Daedric mischief, you see? You didn't hear that from me.
To be honest, I don't have the first idea how someone would even get to half of these places, but they might not be around much longer"
