Im-Kilaya

Im-Kilaya is an Argonian mage and a prominent member of the Twin Lamps. He is located at the Argonian Mission in Ebonheart, where he acts as a consul. Im-Kilaya wears an extravagant amulet, an exquisite robe, a blood belt, and wields a glass jinkblade. He also carries a small amount of gold.

Like all Argonians, Im-Kilaya is immune to poison, has a resistance to disease and can breathe underwater. Evidently dedicated to his vocation as a mage, Im-Kilaya also knows an impressive selection of spells: Rapid Regenerate, Poet's Whim, Vivec's Mercy, Powerwell, Feet of Notorgo, Wisdom, Blood Gift, Blood Despair, Absorb Willpower, Absorb Speed, Absorb Intelligence, Wild Spelldrinker, Weak Spelldrinker, Reflect, Dire Noise, Medusa's Gaze, Commanding Touch, Dire Weakness to Shock, Dire Weakness to Poison, Dire Weakness to Magicka, Dire Weakness to Frost, Dire Weakness to Fire, Deadly Poison, Sleep, Strong Shock Shield, Strong Frost Shield, Strong Fire Shield, Great Feather and Burden of Sin.

Im-Kilaya works tirelessly trying to return escaped slaves to Argonia, and many slaves will ask you to escort them to him. He also might give you a donation for the poor.

Alms from the Argonian MissionEdit

Speak with Im-Kilaya to try and get him to donate to your cause:

  • alms for the poor
    • [If Disposition ≥ 80. 200 Gold has been added to your inventory.] "The Imperial cult has our respect. We are disappointed that the Imperial cult does not speak out against the inhumane practices of slavery in Morrowind. But perhaps you are right. It is by demonstrating our superior commitment to civilization and humanity that we best disprove the Dunmer's barbaric insistence that we are no more than animals. Please accept this donation to the Imperial cult on behalf of the province of Argonia, with our thanks."
    • [If 50 ≤ Disposition < 80. 100 Gold has been added to your inventory.] "The Imperial cult has our respect. We are disappointed that the Imperial cult does not speak out against the inhumane practices of slavery in Morrowind. But we agree with you, that this is not sufficient reason to cause the needy to suffer for want of our province's generosity. Therefore, we ask you to accept this donation as alms for the poor on behalf of the province of Argonia."
    • [If 30 ≤ Disposition < 50.] "The Imperial cult has our respect. But we are disappointed that the Imperial cult does not speak out against the inhumane practices of slavery in Morrowind. We take this disappointment into consideration when determining the generosity of our support. I'm afraid we have no donation to offer at this time."
    • [Else.] "Does the Imperial cult intend to insult us thus by using such an unworthy mouthpiece to solicit alms? Leave us. Immediately." Goodbye.

If you are having trouble raising Im-Kilaya's disposition enough to reach your fundraising goal, you can mention a runaway slave who can be found hiding in the Mission's basement (and to whom you need to talk in order to gain access to this dialogue option) to blackmail Im-Kilaya into being a bit more cooperative:

  • runaway slave
    • [Disposition +40.] "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Surely someone has exceeded his authority, and jeopardized our Mission by disregarding the unjust laws of this land. I trust you will not mention this to others, since you are admittedly eager to maintain our good will."

The Runaway SlaveEdit

Like more slaves struggling to reclaim their freedom, the Argonian Reeh-Jah, who may be found in Molag Amur, wants to reach the Argonian Mission. If you mention Reeh-Jah to Im-Kilaya before you actually bring him to the Argonian Mission, you will get the following response:

  • Reeh-Jah
    • "Reeh-Jah? He sounds like one of our people, but I do not know him myself."

Should you decide to help Reeh-Jah out and manage to safely bring him to the Argonian Mission, Im-Kilaya will be pleased with your efforts and will reward you accordingly:

  • Reeh-Jah
    • [Blood Belt has been added to your inventory.] "You have done a good thing here, %PCName. You have helped one of our people with no promise of reward, and at great peril to yourself. I see good things for you if you continue on this path. The lamps burn brightly for you, I can see that. Take this as a show of our gratitude."

If you mention Reeh-Jah again in this scenario, Im-Kilaya will say:

  • Reeh-Jah
    • "We will get him back to his people. Soon, by the Root, he will be back among his people, with the sweet smell of the Hist making fire in his veins."

Alternatively, if Reeh-Jah died before he could make it to the Argonian Mission, Im-Kilaya will be saddened by his demise:

  • Reeh-Jah
    • "We heard of the death of this poor slave. At least he did not die in captivity."

Finally, if you bring Reeh-Jah back to Tel Aruhn rather than to the Argonian Mission and subsequently mention his name to Im-Kilaya, you will receive the grisly tale of what happened to him afterwards, along with a disposition decrease from Im-Kilaya:

  • Reeh-Jah
    • [Disposition -10. Fight +20.] "We've heard you returned that poor man to his captors. Do you know what happened to him after you brought him in? No? They had him flogged until the skin was flayed from his back. No, he's not dead. That would be too easy, you see, and he wouldn't bring a profit. They healed him, so they could flog him again. That's how the slavers serve notice to their slaves that escape is not an option. I hope you feel pride in your work. Get out of here, %PCRace. Get out while you can."

Rabinna's Inner BeautyEdit

As Rabinna will tell you after you gain her trust, Im-Kilaya and his peers at the Argonian Mission are her only hope for survival and freedom. If you mention the Khajiiti slave's name to Im-Kilaya before you actually bring her to him, he will say the following:

  • Rabinna
    • "Are you going to bring here [sic] here? She would be safe."

Once you have brought Rabinna to the Argonian Mission, Im-Kilaya will reassure you that she will be taken good care of and reward you for your efforts:

  • Rabinna
    • [400 Gold has been added to your inventory.] "It is good that you brought her here. We have heard tales of drugs being smuggled inside these poor people. There seems to be no low the smugglers and slavers won't stoop to for profit. We will give her the help she needs. Thank you, and please take this in return. Perhaps it will help you in funding other missions of goodwill. Take care."

Mentioning Rabinna again after the previous conversation has taken place prompts Im-Kilaya to say the following:

  • Rabinna
    • "She is in good hands now. Thank you, %PCName."

If, on the other hand, Rabinna dies before she could reach the Argonian Mission, Im-Kilaya will say:

  • Rabinna
    • "We heard the slave had been killed. This is a very sad thing."
