Hrordis

Hrordis is a Nord sorceress. Grandmaster Eno Hlaalu will ask you to retrieve the Belt of Sanguine Fleetness from her in a Morag Tong quest. If you are a male character, Ahnassi may reveal to you that Hrordis has the Belt of Sanguine Fleetness and worships Mehrunes Dagon.

Getting the belt without a bounty for murder is a bit tricky since Hrodis doesn't want to talk to you. There are a few ways to get around that dismissive "Goodbye!" she utters. Being a vampire, stripping naked, or having corprus lets you talk to her. Even if her disposition is 100, she will not willingly give you the belt. However, if you mention Mehrunes Dagon to her, her Fight will increase by 100, making it very likely that she will attack you as soon as the conversation ends and thus conveniently allowing you to kill her without incurring a bounty for assault or murder. One other solution is to target her with a Frenzy Humanoid spell. Yet another is to attempt to pickpocket her and then kill her (the other bar patrons will not come to her aid, but you will get a minor bounty which can be easily taken care of).

Along with the Belt of Sanguine Fleetness, Hrordis wears an extravagant robe and a pair of exquisite shoes. She carries a glass dagger and up to 100 gold. Aside from her natural resistance to shock, immunity to frost, ability to shield herself, and a natural frost damage spell, Hrordis knows the following spells: Weakness to Corpus Disease, Vivec's Wrath, Shadow Weave, Frost Shield, Frost Bolt, Daedric Bite, Lightning Shield, Summon Skeletal Minion, Slowfall, Dispel, Blood Despair, Absorb Willpower, Absorb Intelligence, Spell Absorption, Vivec's Feast, Weak Spelldrinker, Sotha's Mirror, Reflect, Commanding Touch, Dire Weakness to Shock, Dire Weakness to Poison, Dire Weakness to Magicka, Dire Weakness to Frost, Dire Weakness to Fire, Deadly Poison, Sleep, Summon Greater Bonewalker, Levitate, Great Levitate, and Fire Shield.

DialogueEdit

Hrordis is usually more than eager to shoo you away:

  • Greeting:
    • "What do you think you're doing in here? Go away. Now." Goodbye
    • "Are you an idiot? I told you. Go away. Now." Goodbye

However, if you do manage to get her to have an actual conversation with you, there are some topics to which she has a unique response:

  • Hrordis
    • [Disposition -10.] "Yes. That's my name. MINE. Do you understand? And I don't like it when other people use my name without my invitation."
  • Mehrunes Dagon
    • "That is a beautiful name. Far too beautiful a name to be found in the mouth of a contemptible worm like you. It will give me great pleasure to beat that beautiful name right out of your maggoty mouth."
    • Goodbye.
  • Sanguine Fleetness
    • [Disposition -10.] "What? No, of course I won't hand it over. This belt is mine."
    • Goodbye

NotesEdit

  • Though it is stated in-game that she is a member of the Dark Brotherhood, she is not listed as such in the Construction Set, due to the Dark Brotherhood not being technically a faction until the Tribunal expansion.
  • The fact that Hrordis is a summoner somewhat complicates getting away with killing her without incurring a bounty. The problem is that if she summons a creature and you strike it before it actually lands a hit on you, it will count as though you assaulted Hrordis. Thus, when you kill her, you may end up with a murder bounty even if she attacks you first and if none of the tavern guests witnesses your actions. The simple solution to prevent such a thing from happening is making sure that both Hrordis herself and any creature that she may summon deal some damage to you before you attack either of them. Having direct access to some means to restore damaged attributes is advised to counteract the damage that the Greater Bonewalker that she may summon may thus deal to your Strength and Endurance before you actually start to fight back against it.
