User talk:JLE

Welcome back to the wiki, JLE. I've noticed that you joined the Morrowind Redesign Project and have been contributing a lot to the Morrowind section. Good work! Let me know if you need anything or if you have any questions about the site. --Aristeo | Talk 13:41, 16 November 2006 (EST)

Hi JLE -- I noticed you've been adding location pages for Morrowind. Just wanted to let you know that we appreciate your contributions. I would be helpful if you could flag any pages you add that aren't complete with a couple of tags, {{NeedsImage-mw}} if the page needs to have a dungeon map added, and {{cleanup-mw}} if you're creating a new page, but it's not in the Morrowind Location format. If you'd like to see a page that meets our standards, please visit Addamasartus. These flags make it easier for other project members to identify pages that still need some work so they can add missing elements.

Also, I took the liberty of adding your user ID to the Morrowind Redesign project page at Morrowind Redesign Project.

Thanks for your help, and welcome to the project! --Hoggwild5 19:12, 16 November 2006 (EST)

Skooma in UrshilakuEdit

Hello JLE -- wanted to answer your question about the location of the Skooma in the Urshilaku Burial Caverns. There are indeed 3 bottles of skooma in the Karma Burial chamber of the Urshilaku Burial Caverns. However, it doesn't appear that you can get to them; it looks like whoever placed the skooma placed it inside rocks in the cavern (probably an error).

First, in order to do this I would recommend that you have a levitate spell on your character; I'll explain why in a minute. Also, I would recommend that you turn on God Mode just in case there are any baddies around so you don't get killed while you look for these objects. You can do that with the console command "TGM". Finally, I would turn off the Fog of War so you can see the entire map for the cavern you're looking in (do that with "TFOW").

There's a console command for the PC version of the game that will put you at the position of an article inside a cell. First you have to determine where the item is located. You can do this in the construction set by double clicking on the object you're trying to locate in the object listing for the interior cell you're in (in this case, potion_skooma_01 in the Urshilaku, Karma Burial Objects list). The object will show up in the rendering window (that's what I call it, anyway -- the same window you see the overhead map view). Select the object in the rendering window by double clicking on it, and you will get an information window about the object (in this case it's called "Alchemy", and it shows the ID of the object as "potion_skooma_01" in the upper LH corner. At the bottom of the window you'll see a section called "Reference Data"; within that section you'll see three coordinates under position (X,Y, and Z). Write these down.

Now, start the game and use this command to put you inside the cell you're trying to search:

 Player->coc "Urshilaku, Karma Burial"

In this example you will be placed inside the Karma Burial chamber of the Urshilaku Burial Caverns.

Next, use that levitate spell I told you you needed; this is in case the object you're looking for is on a shelf up in the air somewhere and you start to fall when you position your character; instead you will float in place.

Finally, type in the following console command:

 Player->PositionCell, X, Y, Z, 0, "Urshilaku, Karma Burial"

Replace the X, Y, and Z with the location coordinates you pulled earler, dropping the decimal places. Leave the fourth argument as zero; this will set your character facing North; replace "Urshilaku, Karma Burial" with the interior name of the cell you're searching.

When I did this and looked down, I could see two of the three skooma bottles in the cavern (They were all underwater). As I tried to move around I realized I was standing within the rocks that make up the walls of the cavern; therefore you will not be able to find these bottles as you explore.

Have Fun! Let us know if you find anything else goofy like this. I hope this helps. --Hoggwild5 14:17, 18 November 2006 (EST)

Dagoth UrEdit

I noticed back in 2006 you basically created the Dagoth Ur lore page. Nice job, by the way. But I noticed you said wrote that Nerevar consulted Boethiah about what to do with Kagrenac's tools. I'm in the middle of cleaning up and updating the article, and since I can't find a source, I will be removing it shortly. He definitely consulted Azura, but I can't find any mention of consulting Boethiah. Thanks, please feel free to add it back with a source if you find one. Minor Edits 21:05, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Show PreviewEdit

Could you please remember to use the Show Preview Button when editing pages to prevent the recent changes page from getting clogged? Thanks! Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 21:52, 26 February 2016 (UTC)

Are you sure it does not belong to the talk page?Edit

In regards of the note you recently left on the Redwater Den page. Are you sure it does note belong to the talk page of the article rather than in the notes section? It feels to me a bit like your wording and your addressing other editors in the note is more typical for what one might expect on a talk page than in an article itself. —MortenOSlash (talk) 15:18, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

SpeculationEdit

Please tone down your additions of baseless speculation to pages, it's getting hard to keep up removing them all. Easter Eggs (including references to other media) do not go on articles, they are confined to the Easter Eggs pages (use the talk page to propose them if they aren't on the page already). Speculation is for the forums; our talk pages are supposed to be for the improvement of the article, if you see any on speculation on them please don't indulge them, and don't reopen old discussions unless adding new information to unsolved questions (UESPWiki:Necropost). In some cases information gathered does need to be summed up and explained in relation to an article, but in most cases only the facts should be presented, leaving the summations/meaning up to the readers because it has more than one explanation.

This is a summation of some of the issues with your recent contributions. Please take a few minutes to review the Style Guide, look over a few of our more complete articles to see how the information is presented there, and reign back on the speculation. If you have questions please don't hesitate to reply and I'll try to help. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:51, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
