Aarlen Lleranoth is a Dark Elf pawnbroker living in Helnim, in a shop right on the waterfront next to the Census and Excise Office. He says he runs a legitimate business, but some of the contents of his basement may say otherwise.
He wears a common shirt, with matching pants and shoes, and wields a chitin dagger. He carries 33 gold and a key, which unlocks the door to his right and the trapdoor to the basement. Aside from his natural resistance to fire and the sanctuary provided by his ancestors, he knows no spells.

DialogueEdit
- Greeting:
- "If you can think of it, I've probably got it. Take a look around."
- Background:
- "My name is %Name. I run this legitimate business and I pay my taxes. Now, are you going to buy anything?"
It Belongs in a MuseumEdit
- artifact trade:
- "What, do you see any dwarven treasures sitting on my shelves? I earn my money through honest trading."
If you asked Golgrom gro-Argal about the artifact trade:
- "Well, you've found me out. Yes, I've been buying artifacts off Mirabelle Talimet and reselling them to appreciators of dwarven antiques. But with her in prison and you snooping around, it looks like the end of the artifact business for me. That means you DON'T have to tell the guards about this, you understand? You stay quiet about my side-business and I'll tell you where the artifacts came from. You can just say that Mirabelle Talimet told you. Might help her get out sooner, come to think of it. Deal?"
- Deal.: "Alright, I'll tell you. Mirabelle Talimet came across a ruin northeast of here. Some absurd dwarf name, Mzankh I think she said. The name wasn't important to me. What was important was that it had barely been touched and was filled to the brim with treasure! But, as I have promised, I will not be dealing in dwarven artifacts anymore. Now, you can get back and tell them about Mzankh. Remember, Mirabelle Talimet said this, not me!"
- "Mzankh. That's the name of the ruin. Northeast of here. That's all I know, didn't step foot in it myself."
- No, I can't agree to that.: "You'll regret that. I'm not going to let you squeal to the guards!" Goodbye (Disposition down by 50, and attacks)
If you kept his involvment secret from Barra'tho:
- "So, you stuck to our arrangement. That's a relief. I'm glad to hear they might cut some slack for Mirabelle Talimet. She's a friend sure, but more than that she's the best explorer of dwarven ruins I've ever met. I'd hate to have to find a new partner -- not that I have any need of one, of course, with me getting out of the artifact business and all. Here, why don't you take this dwarven sword. I can't sell it now that I'm on the straight and narrow." (Disposition up by 20, and you receive a Dwarven Broadsword.)
- "Enough talk about that. Why don't you see if any of my wares are of interest to you?"
If you reported him to a guard:
- Greeting:
- "Do you really think I want to talk with you now?"
Imperial Legion: A Sweet DealEdit
- confiscate contraband:
- "I don't know what you're talking about."
If you have Disposition 60 or higher:
- "Alright, fine. Ligrod and his friend are downstairs, through the door. You can get there with this key." (You receive Aarlen Lleranoth's Key)
- "I already gave you the key."
Thieves Guild: Find the Helnim GangEdit
- gang of thieves:
- "I've had a visit from the gang. I don't know a merchant in town who hasn't."
NotesEdit
- Aarlen has another line of dialogue relating to the artifact trade, but it's unclear when it would appear since the line before it forces the player to decide whether or not to take his deal immediately:
- "I'll give you one more chance. You keep quiet about my involvement, and I'll tell you where the artifacts came from. Deal?"
WaresEdit
- Negative numbers indicate restocking items.
- Items in italics are equipped, and can be purchased if you sell him something better first. (If there is more than one, you may be able to purchase the others.)
