Mankar bugEdit
When I went to Cloud ruler temple after some quests on teh Xbox 360, I found Mankar Cameron standing on the location where Martin later opens the gate to Paradise. I also found him at the dagon Shrine. The problem is, when I almost completed Paradise Mankar wasn't there! I waited for him a long time, killed both his children and tried to sit on his throne, but nothing helped. What should I do? — Unsigned comment by 81.206.139.28 (talk) at 17:28 on 27 February 2007
NPC NamesEdit
Okay this might be a bit off the wall but I just saw the list of NPC names in Cloud Ruler Temple and a lot of them struck me:
- Achille - Achilles; Greek hero from the Trojan war
- Arcturus - one of the brightest stars in the sky
- Baragon - Paragon; word for a peerless example of something
- Belisarius - Roman (or Byzantine if you prefer) general who recaptured North Africa and Italy
- Cyrus - Great Persian emperor
- Ferrum - Latin for 'iron'
- Fortis - Latin for 'brave'
- Jena - Major battle in the Napoleonic wars between the French and the Prussians
- Roliand - Roland; hero of various Wagnerian opera and Franco-Germanic legend.
There are others that could mean something - these ones just sprung to mind immediately (yes, I know I'm sad).
Do we think this is deliberate? That the designers gave the guards names of people or things they found courageous or inspiring? Or should I just get out into the garden? If the former, should we mention it Rpeh 11:38, 2 June 2007 (EDT)
- Wow, that's some nice research man. Seems to me that there are too many references for it to be pure coincidence. I think it would be more appropriate to place the information on the NPC's respective pages though, rather than the Cloud Ruler Temple page. And look up Pelagius too. I think he was a priest or something. --Saruuk 08:20, 8 July 2007 (EDT)
- I think the designers may have picked inspiring names, but I'm still not sure if it's mentionable. Besides, I just looked up 'Baragon' on Wikipedia and found that "Baragon is a four-legged reptile with a horn on his head and large ears", so I could be totally wrong! --RpehTalk 10:18, 8 July 2007 (EDT)

-
- I'm pretty sure that the designers named Pelagius after an emperor on the Elder Scrolls universe. This fact is mentioned on the Pelagius page.

Cloud Ruler temple inspirationEdit
- The Temple is based on the Hornburg at Helms Deep from The Lord of the Rings. Similarities can also be found with the headquarters of the League of Shadows from the film Batman Begins; both protagonists travel to an Asian-themed mountaintop fortress.
Is there any factual substantiation behind the claims about Lord of the Rings and Batman? It seems like pure, anachronistic supposition to me, but perhaps there are some design notes somewhere that I'm not aware of. --Saruuk 08:20, 8 July 2007 (EDT)
- I don't know of anything in writing but the Lord of the Rings makes some sense at least - last bastion of a besieged group of heroes. The Batman one... not so much. --RpehTalk 10:18, 8 July 2007 (EDT)
- I've moved the note here until someone can provide some evidence. --NepheleTalk 01:47, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
- I think Cloud Ruler Temple is actually made in the style of Akaviri buildings because the Blades were inspired by the Akaviri and because they use Akaviri weapons and Akaviri-style armor. It's somewhere on the site. --Twentyfists 21:32, 9 January 2008 (EST)

- It could be in memory of the people of Akavir, I believe a book (probably mysterious Akavir) suggests that there were men on Akavir co-existing with the Akaviri Snake-people. Until the Snake-people ate them, that is.

(←) The asian themed mountain top temple has several potential refferences. Fact of the matter is, Asia has temples on top of mountains. Samurai, monks, amd rulers of various walks of life had established fortress style temples up in the peaks, sometimes even villages. I dont think it is a refference to any one specific thing like batman or LotR. User: Ghotet - Jan 25, 2011 — Unsigned comment by Ghotet (talk • contribs) at 21:19 on 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- I think that the Akiviri would be like an Asian style of people they dressed like the Samurai when they went to war. Just like the Red Guard resemble a middle eastern style of people they live in a dry arid dessert region of Tamriel and their skin tone is similar to middle easterners. As well as the Nords, they have lite blonde hair and are big people similar to the celts. Cloud Ruler 02:07, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Horseless in CRTEdit
After joining the Blades, I found that I didn't get my free horse in the stables. Martin and Jauffre's horses were there, but neither was rideable. I'm thinking maybe the horse is just "lost" and will show up eventually; I'll post back here if that's the case. Anybody else have this happen to them? --Robin Hood 22:02, 9 July 2007 (EDT)
- You don't get the free horse after joining the blades, you get it after delivering the amulet to Jauffre. Talk to Prior Maborel at that point and he'll give the horse to you. It should also be in the stables after you bring Martin back to Weynon Priory, although I'm not sure what happens if you've been riding it in the meantime. If you didn't ride the horse to CRT, it won't be there when you arrive. --RpehTalk 04:02, 10 July 2007 (EDT)
- I'm not talking about Prior Maborel's Paint Horse, I'm talking about the horse you get in Cloud Ruler Temple (see the first note on the main CRT page). There's always been one there in previous games, just not in this one, it seems. --Robin Hood 02:12, 15 July 2007 (EDT)

The katanas in the Great HallEdit
If you open the console and click on the two isolated katanas above the fireplace in the Great Hall, you can see that Glenroy and "Renote" (who I presume to be Captain Renault) both get honored by having their weapons as decoration in the temple. IWon'tFightUndead 08:51, 15 November 2007 (EST)

- Just a small note... I believe that 'Renote' was Captain Renault's original name, but they changed it at some point to 'Renault'. Her object ID in the CS is 'renote', too. My guess is that they sismply forgot to rename the katana in CRT. --Gaebrial 03:00, 16 November 2007 (EST)

- No. It's not an easter egg it's just decoration and already gets a mention on the CRT article. --Rpeh•T•C•E• 10:44, 8 December 2007 (EST)
- I would argue that the blades always put katanas from fallen agents up on the wall as a means of honouring them. 85.228.203.66 06:27, 9 February 2008 (EST)

Major Glitch?Edit
(from the article)
- DO NOT try to access the temple before bringing Martin and Jauffre there, doing so can cause a major glitch in the main quest making it unfinishable.
I've taken this off for two reasons. Firstly, it's staggeringly uninformative as to what the problem actually is, and secondly I know I've been to CRT before the quest with no problems whatsoever. Unless there's any more information it doesn't belong in the article. --Rpeh•T•C•E• 02:18, 19 November 2007 (EST)
- I just hopped up there last night with my super-Khajiit. The Blades all said the same thing about the Dragonborn being dishonored but, other than that, nothing odd. IWon'tFightUndead 02:43, 19 November 2007 (EST)
- In one incarnation, my character ventured to Cloud Ruler before embarking into the Main Quest. She found the gates wide open and walked onto the grounds. Nothing odd occurred in doing so, and the doors into the Temple proper were locked (Needs a Key). I don't imagine there's cause for a quest-breaking glitch unless you resort to using console commands. —Dark Spark 20:44, 6 February 2008 (EST)

- I added the original note, it was in error but only somewhat. Killing any of the blades and letting their bodies get cleared over time before finishing the Weynon Priory quest(by taking Martin to CRT) will cause Martin's speech to freeze irreversibly. As far as I know there is no way around this. From what I have tested, killing a blade and then taking Martin to CRT before his body is cleared will allow Martin to continue his speech without error. Can't get to MartinEdit
Before escorting Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple, I embarked on several side quests. Two of which were both Kvatch battles. Later I returned to where I had left Martin and he was gone. When I activate that quest, I get a green arrow inside the temple. Managed to get inside using paint brushes, but all doors need a key. Am I screwed for finishing the main quest? Can I get a key somewhere? Is Martin really inside or is he somewhere else and I just can't find him? Please help. I love the game, have 130 hours into it and don't want to have to start over. Thanks.--72.44.161.226 17:28, 17 June 2008 (EDT)

Stolen itemsEdit
When I was in Martin's room some of the items were labeled at stealing and after the main quest is completed they end up being legal to take so not ALL of the items are free like stated on the CRT main page. I just need a little verification.--Corevette789 23:51, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Cloud Ruler Temple Glitch?Edit
Alright so after I got Martin to Cloud Ruler Temple and he gave his speech, all the blades started going back to their duties, but once they got right before the doors they just fell through the floor down to the ground. I tried to see if I could cross and of course couldn't, and ended up falling down t the ground beneath the temple. Cyrus was down there too... dead. I had to fast travel back to the temple to get out from under it. Help??? — Unsigned comment by 75.50.90.144 (talk)
- Looks like a collision problem. If you are on PC, are you running any mods? If not, then try loading an earlier save, see if you have this problem before Martin's speech. Vesna 04:45, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

- There are literally hundreds of places where you can get stuck in Oblivion. You probably solved it by now, but if you don't have any saves - and you are playing on PS3 or Xbox - the only thing you can do is to jump, attack, and generally try all your moves to get out of there. --Krusty 13:49, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
Blades can be tricked into openning the gateEdit
The blade guards on the battlement can be tricked into opening the main gate. They will run down and join any melee that occurs near the main gate. The nearby Imperial Forester, Bruma guard at the city's north gate, or any forest creatures are all convenient opponents to draw the Blades out. Just have them chase you to the base of the gate. Also, a ranged attack will work, but it is very difficult to score a hit. Weak Fireball from the Skingrad Mages Guild Recommendation quest works well due to its area effect. 74.77.129.70 03:14, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
Secret chestEdit
I was travelling around cloude ruler temple, and not too far away i saw some stairs and a chest. It lead me to believe that cloud ruler temple once used to be bigger. Also the chest had some gold and some useless stuff (it had bear pelts which is good for the shrine) Secret Chief 17:44, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- This is already documented on the Unmarked places page.--Corevette789 21:00, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
- Their are alot of stairs in this region they mostly are on the road leading from Sancre Torthe long way around towards Cloud Ruler Temple and Bruma. Cloud Ruler 23:08, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Too many images?Edit
I like a good image as much as the next editor, but seven on a page this small? I think at least "The sleeping quarters in the West Wing" and "The armory in the East Wing" should probably go, as they're the least interesting images. Other thoughts? rpeh •T•C•E• 15:32, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- I was about to slap a cleanup-tag (maybe even incomplete) on this page; even if it gets the usual building treatment (guildhall style), seven images is still too much. One for each zone should be enough. Also, the text needs a bit of work as well - it's not bad, but it could be separated into sections as usual. Furthermore, the entire intro is a copy/paste from Lore:Cloud Ruler Temple, but I'm a bit split where this introductory text should go. --Krusty 15:40, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- Done. The intro text is transcluded from Lore:CRT, which we often do for game articles with Lore pages, but it's not a great Lore page either. rpeh •T•C•E• 16:29, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yah but for the west wing which sections should be deleted? Cloud Ruler 22:48, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

- The only NPC whose visit is listed is Baeralorn because he's not a permanent resident. All the Blades live in the Temple all the time (except Jauffre and Baurus) so including their schedules on this page would be a bit silly. Their NPC pages will have their schedule eventually. rpeh •T•C•E• 08:59, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Editing of NotesEdit
I have removed the part in the notes about how you can, after joining the blades, take any item in the temple without getting a bounty, as this is already said in Oblivion:Blades. --Iamgoofball 04:50, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
- I put a smaller version back on. You're right that the existing notes were too long, but I think it's worth mentioning on two places in this instance. Arguably, it could come off the Blades page. rpeh •T•C•E• 05:01, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
-
- Newest note removed: *The two beds upstairs will remain as owned beds , even though they are owned by Martin and Jauffre.
-
- I think what the editor meant was that the beds will remain owned by Martin and Jauffre, even though both die (At least to the editor). Still doesnt belong, as this trait is true for all owned items, just thought it needed some clarification.--Catmaniac66 18:41, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Mysterious book?Edit
so i was talking to martin during the blood of the daedra quest and i decided to look at the books on the table. there is a big, purple book under the book amulet of kings. i couldn't see the title so i threw amulet of kings off the table and then when i looked at the title, it showed the title of a book next to it, a warp in the west. so i threw that off the table as well and then when i looked at it, it didn't show a title. i sat down and looked at it but it still didn't show anything. is this maybe a glitch/bug? does anyone know the name of the book? Cloud ruler temple needs key?Edit
So I have Martin and Jauffre at CRT. Martin is standing near the gate and Jauffre is standing down the path a bit. I can interact with both of them. If I try to go to the gates of CRT it always tells me I need a key... Well I assumed Jauffre was supposed to have this key and let us in but I can't trigger him to do anything but talk. I suppose this is a glitch, but maybe someone has an solution? — Unsigned comment by 69.249.98.240 (talk) at 14:06 on 17 June 2013
- From my reading of the scripts, when Jauffre and Martin are "close" to the gates it unlocks. There isn't an actual key for the gate, it is all done silently by the quest scripts. You'll have to do something to make him move closer to the gates, perhaps summon something and attack it until it becomes hostile, then he should come to your aid. Mysterium Xarxes Symbol on the floor of the Great HallEdit
A large Triangular symbol that looks like a more detailed version of the second page of the Mysterium Xarxes has appeared in front of the fireplace on the floor of the Great Hall of CRT in my game (PS3). I'm not sure at what stage in the Main Quest this happened. Armory secret roomEdit
There's a secret room in the CRT armory--an actual armory--if you tcl through the left wall. It has a "lost scroll" with what appears to be some development notes on it, as well as a Frost Bow and Frost-Tipped Arrows. I only happened to discover this because I was using the Armory chest as a dump spot, and decided to coc there since I was getting tired of the loading through the exterior and the east wing on the way to the armory; coc puts you right behind the counter of this secret armory. This should probably be mentioned in the article. Xolroc (talk) 01:25, 27 September 2013 (GMT)
Addendum: It contains several other things of note too; inside the counter (must use TCL to reach) there's an Alessian Katana, a Blademaster Dai-Katana, a Training Katana (zero damage but still a valid weapon, interestingly), a Blademaster Cuirass, Blademaster Gauntlets, Training Armor, and a Sancre Tor Guard Cuirass. Behind the counter are six tiny crates, as well; the smallest in the game as far as I can tell. Xolroc (talk) 01:31, 27 September 2013 (GMT)
