Collatinus Vedius is an Imperial commoner living at the house of Matthias Draconis in the Imperial City's Talos Plaza District.
Collatinus lives in Matthias Draconis' house where he walks around on the bottom floor most of the time. He does not sleep at all due to a bug and skips breakfast. At 12pm he leaves Matthias' home and goes to The Foaming Flask for lunch before returning home at 2pm. He then wanders around for four hours and then eats from 6pm until 8pm. Upon finishing his dinner he walks around the lower floor of the house for the rest of the night. He follows this schedule every day of the week as well as on the weekends. The only exception to his routine is during Light the Dragonfires, when all citizens are restricted to their houses under martial law.
He wears middle-class attire and a piece of light armor consisting of a brown shirt, light brown linens and leather boots. He also carries a small amount of gold. In combat he relies solely on a fine iron shortsword.

- It's possible that Collatinus was originally created as the fourth guard for Umbacano. His Form ID shows that he was created concurrently with three other NPCs; Surius Afranius, Umog gra-Marad, and Usheeja, which are three of the guards in the final game. He wears the same shirt and pants as all of them, and carries the same fine iron shortsword. Besides him and the guards, only Goblin Jim has the distinction of having this sword as a set item in their inventory. Collatinus may have lost hos role after the creation of Matthias Draconis, who was created Dark Brotherhood quest Next of Kin, and who became the fourth Umbacano guard in the final game. Collatinus still appears in Matthias' house in the final game.
- Another NPC by the name of Lurio Maenius was created after both Collatinus and Matthias, and was seemingly influenced by Collatinus in a way. In his greeting, he states: "I share a house with Matthias Draconis. I'm between jobs as a private guard." The first part implies that just like Collatinus in the final game, Lurio was meant to live with Matthias, while the second part might have been a reference to Collatinus losing his guard job to Matthias. Both men share the same class, level, and factions. It's possible that Lurio was meant to replace Collatinus, although why he went unused and Collatinus stayed, is unknown.
BugsEdit
- Collatinus was intended to sleep from 10pm until 6am, but can't as Matthias' house only has a single bed which Matthias already occupies.
The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, version 3.4.0, fixes this bug.
- Despite living there, Collatinus does not carry the key to Matthias' house.
