During the Second Era, Hermaeus Mora is certainly one of Tamriel's more elusive Daedric Princes. While many of his fellow princes actively meddle in the affairs of Nirn, Mora's work is much more subtle, and none more jealously guards secrets than the Lord of Knowledge.
That said, you can encounter the followers of the Gardener of Men or even the Daedric Prince himself in various locations in the game right now. Interested in discovering what Hermaeus Mora has been up to in Tamriel up to this point? Check out these quests below.
Help Mora's FollowersEdit
As you explore the ESO base game, you can encounter Hermaeus Mora's dedicated followers via various zone quests. For example, in the quests "Mistress of the Lake" and "Sunken Knowledge," the Primeval Seekers of Bangkorai require your help securing some Ayleid ruins, while in "The Flooded Grove" the Wooded Eye cult of Greenshade need assistance handling a Daedric invasion.
In both cases, should you choose to assist the followers of Mora, you'll be honored with an audience with the Daedric Prince himself. Find Herald Kixathi in Lake Halcyon, Bangkorai, and Orthenir in Rootwater Grove, Greenshade, to pick these quests up!
Battle Through the Vile ManseEdit
If you're seeking a challenge, you could investigate the Vile Manse and acquire the quest titled "The Walking Dreamer." There, you battle your way through the mansion's dungeons to help the Prince of Knowledge recover one of his most powerful tomes.
As a Public Dungeon, the Vile Manse is defended by large groups of enemies and dangerous bosses, so you might want to bring an ally—just make sure you keep whatever forbidden knowledge you uncover during your explorations to yourself!
The Vile Manse Public Dungeon is located in northwest Reaper's March.
Open the Way to The Seeker's ArchiveEdit
Seasoned adventurers can find even greater challenge still via the "The Seeker's Archive," which you can acquire within the group zone of Craglorn. In this quest, you must open the way to a secret shrine to Mora.
Since the archive is group content in the Craglorn zone, we recommend having a party of four players to tackle this quest and its various minions and bosses. That said, it is possible to battle your way through solo or quietly sneak in and out. Should you succeed, you gain another audience with the One Who Knows, which unlocks three additional quests. Get started by finding Ibrula and the ruins northwest of Belkarth, Craglorn.
Delve into Scrivener's HallEdit
A great way to learn more about Hermaeus Mora is to investigate some of his devoted followers. In the newly released dungeon Scrivener's Hall, you and three allies dive deep into the Scribes of Mora, a cult dedicated to the One Who Knows and the collection of all knowledge.
While you won't meet Mora face-to-face in this dungeon, you learn more about how his worshipers perceive him as well as his broader mission in Nirn. You can access Scrivener's Hall by acquiring the Scribes of Fate dungeon DLC from the in-game Crown Store or via ESO Plus™.
Pick Up the Necrom PrologueEdit
Finally, perhaps the best way to encounter Hermaeus Mora in ESO right now is to complete the Necrom Prologue. In this free base-game quest, you must prove your worth to the Daedric Prince and team up with his emissary, Leramil the Wise, to investigate a mysterious new threat.
You can acquire the Necrom Prologue by picking up the quest titled "Eye of Fate" free from the in-game Crown Store. This quest continues the Shadow Over Morrowind adventure and sets you on the path to the upcoming Necrom Chapter—good luck!
