These are some of my custom (or otherwise heavily expanded) creatures and NPC archetypes.
VarlageaEdit
The varlagea (meaning star-lore in Ayleidoon) is a type of animated construct of light that comes in many forms. The light of varlageais is typically light teal hued that forms a wiry network emanating from the varla stone core aloft at its center. Each varlagea has a unique form which seems to mimic fairytale things, story tropes, and other story archetypes. For example, varlageais might have the form of an old crone, a grimoire, or a storm. Snakes and other anguine forms are disproportionately common.
Varlageis were created at Welageasel in 3E 127 as an unintended product of research conducted by the Sidereal Comitatus.

Pooka is a shapeshifter in Detritus, in the Strange. They take on forms similar to a horse, a rabbit, a monkey, a gremlin, a dog, a fox, and a goat. However, in any form, they are around the same size and their proportions are somewhat off, so they never quite appear as an exact match of any one animal in particular. Additionally, they always have shaggy, black fur and their eyes are golden and luminous.
Due to their wile and sociability, Pooka is quite knowledgable about Detritus. For anyone who can withstand their constant buffoonery, they can be a valuable asset for the intrepid Detritus adventurer.

BansheeEdit
Banshees are a kind of hostile entity which appear as distorted women. A banshee's hands and feet are bound. Her head hangs limp and twisted upside-down upon her chest. A scrap of cloth hangs from within her mouth, covering the upper half of her face that lies below. Water flows endlessly from the roof of her mouth and she is always in a state of dripping wet.
Banshees' main way of inflicting harm is via their scream which is capable of producing the force to knock someone over, lacerating cloth and skin, and instilling a debilitating sense of fear.
SluaEdit
The slua is the host of tormented human souls which surrounds the expanses beyond the orts of Detritus. Its cries permeate nearby areas as constant noise and it wriggles and flows without end. It has a reputation of being certain death to anyone who might fall into its grasp, though with the few accounts of such accidents being survivors, it's possible that the slua protects Detritans from far worse a fate.

Grey ManEdit
The Grey Man is a being in Detritus. He is known to stalk Detritans, but has never been known to interact with others. Should one turn, find the Grey Man behind them, and attempt to approach him, they will find that the Grey Man does not appear to get closer; he motionlessly remains at distance as if his image is within one's own eyes.
