'Ten-Tongues' Weerhat

'Ten-Tongues' Weerhat is an Argonian pawnbroker who runs the Great Bazaar's indoor Pawnbroker. Like any pawnbroker, Ten-Tongues has his claws in a few less than legal sales. Of course, his knowledge of the shadier side of Mournhold might come in handy when you need to track down a muckraking journalist. He will often have certain "special offers" available to you, all of which consist of rare scrolls for unusually low prices. There are some limeware items upstairs in his store that are easy to steal and that can be sold for a good amount of money.

He carries up to 50 gold (60% chance each), a stolen book related to the Scroll Sales quest, a pair of common pants, an exquisite belt, and six exquisite shirts that may be used as an alternative in The Shirt of His Back quest.

Like all Argonians, he is immune to poison, has a resistance to disease, and can breathe underwater. Aside from that, he knows a variety of spells, including Dispel, Telekinesis, Spell Absorption, Vivec's Feast, Sotha's Mirror, Recall, Mark, Divine Intervention, Tevral's Hawkshaw, Detect Enchantment, Almsivi Intervention, Rally Humanoid, Rally Creature, Demoralize Humanoid, and Demoralize Creature.

DialogueEdit

"Welcome, %PCRace, welcome! The best deals in all of Mournhold can be found here. Low prices every day, and special offers as well! Please, take your time and look through my wares."
latest rumors
"Ten-Tongues does business with many adventurers -- hes and shes that run about the ruins down below. Now and then they find something nice, and they bring it to Ten-Tongues. Maybe you are this kind of person? If so, you see people down there, look like poor helpless people with no home? Maybe they are, and maybe they aren't. Maybe they are the Black Dart Gang, and they surprise you, kill you dead *snap* like that with one poison dart, take your stuff, and goodbye to you forever."

Quest-Related DialogueEdit

Muckraking JournalistEdit

Depending on the disposition level of Ten-Tongues, he will give different answers for the investigation:

anonymous writer
  • "I might know something. I find it pays to know things." (Disposition > 50)
  • "I might know something. And when I really like someone, I can go a long way out of my way to help that someone." (50 < Disposition < 80)
  • "Here's what I've heard. I've heard that the guy who writes 'The Common Tongue' is someone named Trels Varis. Now, this is not a name known to me personally. I make it a habit to know the names of people in Mournhold personally. And this guy I do not know. And other people I talk to also do not know. Which is noteworthy in itself. I make the guess that this guy is well-hid, and wants to stay well-hid. But where do I first hear about this guy? In the Craftsmen's Hall. So maybe that is a one place to look."

If Trels Varis is dead:

"Here's what I've heard. I've heard that the guy who writes 'The Common Tongue' is someone named Trels Varis.... Oh. This person is dead? How unfortunate. Then you know more about him than I do."

WaresEdit

  • Negative numbers indicate restocking items.
  • Items in italics are equipped, and can be purchased if you sell him something better first. (If there is more than one, you may be able to purchase the others.)
  • Items in bold are Leveled Lists. Click on them to learn more about what they may contain.

BugsEdit

  • He carries six exquisite shirts needed for an unrelated quest, which is most likely an oversight by the developers as he appears to be created from Rasha's base.
