Zadaza is a Khajiit who can originally be found in Lilmoth. You'll find her near the western gate along with Kirstaleth and Varo Hosidias. She is a veteran associate of Famia Mercius of Cyrodilic Collections and has taken part in many of her expeditions.
A secret dossier detailing her background and daily routine theorizes a past involvement with either the Thieves Guild or the Aldmeri Dominion, though neither could be confirmed.

As you approach the western gate, you'll hear her say:
- Zadaza: "Ah, fresh meat! More gold for Zadaza when you die!"
Speaking to her, she'll say:
- "So Famia reels in another adventurer, eh? This one admits, you seem stronger than most. Hmm. Zadaza gives you … two in three chance of surviving. Fair odds, yes?"
- Is this xanmeer really that dangerous?
- "Ha! Only for wide-footed bumblers. Unfortunately, Famia has a weak eye for talent, and Murkmire is full of clumsy risk-takers.
But don't worry, walker. This one has been on five expeditions with Famia and only seen people eaten by salamanders twice!" - Good to know. Any advice on how to avoid that sort of thing?
- "Hmm. Only this: when we find treasure, take no more than you can carry comfortably. A heavy purse will make you slow, and being slow will make you dead.
Oh, and if you see Zadaza running, you should run, too—in the same direction. Simple!" - I'll keep that in mind.
You can ask her a few questions before moving on.
- "Any other questions for Zadaza? Or do you simply wish to get to the running, dodging, and screaming?"

- "Ask away, walker! Our leader, Famia, knows more about the ruins than Zadaza, but Zadaza knows more about not getting eaten by crocodiles. This one will let you decide which is more important."

Famia looks for this Kajin-Jat Crystal. Zadaza looks for things that are light and numerous—baubles and ancient coins, you see? Some look for heavy golden idols. They tend to wind up squished or in pieces."

If you speak to her before talking to Famia after she arrives, she'll say:
- "Best speak with Famia before she passes out. This one told her to lay off the fried wamasu, but some people enjoy being round and slow, yes?"
Once Famia has been spoken with:
- "Zadaza hopes you are not too fond of your boots. The marsh eats boots only slightly less often than it eats people.
Hopefully we will see you at the xanmeer soon. If not, well … this one is sure you will make some lucky crocodile very happy."
After escorting Famia through the swamp, Zadaza and the rest of the group can be found outside the xanmeer with Zadaza trying to unlock the door. The following conversation will then happen:
- Kirstaleth: "Is it working?"
- <Famia will approach and use the vakka stone.>
- Famia Mercius: "See there? The door awakens! Try opening it now, Zadaza."
- Zadaza: "Ziss'vo! Zadaza has been picking at this for—! What did you do, Famia?"
- Famia Mercius: "Scholarship in action, my friends! Now, let's make some discoveries!"
- Varo Hosidias: "Yes, let's get to it. We're crocodile bait out here."
Ixtaxh XanmeerEdit
Once you have entered the xanmeer, a trap will be accidentally set off and the floor will crumble beneath you. When you come to, you can overhear Zadaza calling out to Famia:
- Zadaza: "Famia? Are you alive?"
- Famia Mercius: "Zadaza! You avoided the trap?"
- Zadaza: "A rock fell on Zadaza's beautiful tail, but otherwise, she is fine. The others fell into separate rooms."
- Famia Mercius: "Mara's mercy. Try to find a way around! We'll look for the others down here."
While you search with Famia for the others, Zadaza will make her way through the complex until she meets up with you again after you drive off the spiders attacking Varo.
- Varo Hosidias: "That all of them? Good."
- <Zadaza enters from a door leading to the Stone Furnace.>
- Zadaza: "Jone's bumpy arse, what happened in here?"
- Zadaza: "The crystal is near! Come!"
- Kirstaleth: "Varo! Don't move! I'll get down there to heal you—somehow."
She will then lead you through the Stone Furnace which is heavily trapped:
- Zadaza: "Famia's crystal is through the next door. Hop down, yes? This one will follow."
After dropping down and triggering the fire traps:
- Zadaza: "Dark moons, a trap! Lift those paws, walker! Zadaza will disarm it!"
Once the traps have been disabled:
- Zadaza: "Exhilarating, yes? This one thinks the door is unlocked now. Give it a push."
As you enter the vault, Famia will rejoin you and Zadaza:
- Famia Mercius: "Ha! You see? You aren't the only one who can find side passages!"
- Zadaza: "Note this one's very genuine surprise."
When you enter the chamber with the statue that holds the crystal, Zadaza will warn Famia to be careful.
- Famia Mercius: "The Kajin-Jat Crystal. At last!"
- Zadaza: "Careful, Famia. We have had enough falling and screaming for one day."
- Famia Mercius: "Sound advice. Should just be a matter of wedging the pressure plate, and … there!"
- Famia Mercius: "Finally we … What was that?"
The statue holding the crystal then crumbles and the Ixtaxh Voriplasm emerges.
- Famia Mercius: "Mara's mercy! Run!"
- Zadaza: "Distract it, walker! Zadaza will open the door!"
After the voriplasm is killed, the doors open and the poison gas is released. Zadaza shouts as she makes her escape with the group:
- Zadaza: "The door is open! Hurry!"
After you have escaped the xanmeer, Zadaza is rather blasé about the experience.
- "Another temple conquered, eh? Closest call this one has seen in years, though.
You did well in there, walker. Zadaza thinks you might have a future in this business!"
After you agree to meet Famia back in Lilmoth, Zadaza and the rest of the expedition will banter with Famia about their past expeditions:
- Xukas: "Farewell, everyone. Please, do not make me do this again."
- <Xukas leaves.>
- Famia Mercius: "Well, that was exciting, right?"
- Varo Hosidias: "I have never seen more spiders."
- Kirstaleth: "Are you joking? We nearly died!"
- Zadaza: "Welcome, my friend, to exploring with Famia."
- Famia Mercius: "Oh, that is hardly fair! Our last expedition was—"
- Zadaza: "Spike pit."
- Famia Mercius: "Well, yes. But before that—"
- Zadaza: "Angry Naga heart-eaters."
- Famia Mercius: "Ah, but what about that trip north? That wasn't—"
- Zadaza: "Many, many crocodiles."
- Varo Hosidias: "Madus lost his hand to one. Remember Madus?"
- Zadaza: "Zadaza mostly remembers his screams."
- Famia Mercius: "Yes, yes. But need I remind you, we acquired the Kajin-Jat Crystal?"
- Kirstaleth: "Good for you. As for me? I'm out. This Elf is sticking to woodland adventures from now on."
- Varo Hosidias: "Smart. I'm sitting the next one out, too. Here, Elf. I'll walk you home."
- Kirstaleth: "Are you certain you're up to it?"
- Varo Hosidias: "Ale's cheap in Lilmoth, and there's not a beast alive that's going to stand between me and a tankard right now."

- Zadaza: "A one-legged Imperial and a Wood Elf fresh out of the cradle go wandering into the swamp. What could go wrong?"
Missing in MurkmireEdit
It is possible to start this quest from Zadaza:
- Zadaza: "New blood! You are needed once again. Come, speak!"
Speaking to her:
- "Ah, walker. This meeting is fortuitous, yes? Our mutual friend, Famia, is looking for you. I warn you—she twitches like a sugar-sick kitten."
- Is something wrong?
- "Zadaza does not know all the details. She was busy bathing and counting her xanmeer treasures when Famia urged her to find you.
Something about other explorers going missing, I think? You should talk to her. She waits for you in her office." - All right, I'll speak to Famia in her office.
Talking to her after accepting the quest:
- "Off you go, new blood. Zadaza can only play messenger for so long, yes? This one goes too long without a decent nap."
Since you last saw her, Zadaza was investigating the disappearances of fellow Cyrodilic Collections members but was captured herself. She can be found with her fellow captives in the small prisoner pen at the Blackguard Caravan.
Once you open the gate she will be the first out, with the other prisoners not far behind.
- Zadaza: "Run, you mud-legs! Zadaza is done with this place!"
- Xureiik: "So, these dryskins are good for something after all."
- Kirstaleth: "I hate this swamp! I'm never coming back!"
Zadaza will later be found outside the Cyrodilic Collections building with the other escapees. If spoken to she will say:
- "Rescued! That is what they say! Brave, beautiful Zadaza rescued by the new blood. Ziss'vo! Varo will never let this one hear the end of it."
- You're mad at me for saving you?
- "Oh, do not get your tail in a twist. Zadaza is not mad—just disappointed. This one was moments away from mounting a daring escape when you arrived. The stuff of legends!
Still, we work with Famia. Zadaza will get another chance before long, yes?"
DialogueEdit
Zadaza will be with her fellow Cyrodilic Collections members in Root-Whisper Village to witness the rebirth of a tribe and a Hist tree. She will be grudgingly impressed by your exploits:
- "A villain defeated, a Hist tree renewed, a tribe reborn …. This one will admit, she is impressed.
Do not let it go to your head, though! If there is one thing Zadaza cannot stand, it is vanity."
NotesEdit
- She doesn't exist in-game until Famia Mercius sends you to speak to her.
- In her dialogue at Root-Whisper Village, she says that you were able to reawaken a Hist even if you speak to her before actually performing the ritual to do so.
