A Harrowstorm with Ritual Pikes
"Come fools! Throw yourselves upon the sacrificial pyre!" —Jagiska[1]

Matron Jagiska was a Reachfolk witch and a prominent member of the Icereach Coven. She was a powerful conjurer responsible for conducting many Harrowstorm rituals across the lands of the Reach, and the Holds of Haafingar, Hjaalmarch, and Karthald of Skyrim, and the tunnels of Blackreach below during the Interregnum and the Gray Host crisis.[1]

Little is known about Jagiska's past. As a member of the Icereach Coven, she came into contact with the Gray Host and began cooperating with them. At some point between 2E 577 and 2E 582, the Coven was tasked by Rada al-Saran with mastering the Harrowstorm ritual.[2][3] By 2E 582, they began terrorizing the populations of Western Skyrim and the Reach. They performed tempest rituals known as Harrowstorms, which they used to resurrect members of the Gray Host who had died and were sent to Coldharbour in the First Era.[2][4]

Jagiska was responsible for many of the Harrowstorm attacks, particularly at the ritual sites at Black Morass, Chilblain Peak, Giant's Coast, Hailstone Valley, Northern Watch, and Old Karth within the region of Skyrim, and underground in Blackreach at the sites of Dwarf's Bane, Gloomforest, Miner's Lament, and Nightstone.[5] Many of the rituals within the region were stopped by the representatives of the Swords of Solitude in orer to protect local Nords.[6][7]

She also performed the rituals at the sites of Harrowed Haunt, Ragnvald, Reachwind, and Witchborne within the Reach.[5] Under the command of Ard Caddach of Markarth, the agents of Stonehands intervened to stop many of those rituals to protect the Reachfolk.[8][9]

Her actions led to the demise of many travelers,[10] and the souls she absorbed were used to bring fallen Gray Host members back to Tamriel.[1] However, her efforts were ultimately thwarted, and the Icereach Coven,[11] along with their vampire allies, were defeated, both in Skyrim and in the Reach.[12][13] What happened to Jagiska herself, however, is unknown.[1]
