Eleidon's Ward

Eleidon's Ward is an enchanted shield especially built for Eleidon, a renowned holy Breton[1]:241 knight of legend. One of the many stories about him is that he saved a baron's daughter from sure death at the hands of a warlord, and the baron spent all his riches on the creation of the shield to show his gratitude. Eleidon's eponymous shield grants the wielder the opportunity to heal wounds.[2]

In the Fifth Century of the First Era, in the midst of High King Wulfharth's reign in Skyrim, the revered Mordrin Hanin was entombed with Eleidon's Ward in Vvardenfell, in close proximity to Ashurnabitashpi, southwest in the cave of Ibar-Dad.[3]

The last living dwarf, Yagrum Bagarn, at one point befriended the sorcerer Divayth Fyr.[4] At Fyr's behest, Yagrum Bagarn wrote a book that would later be known as Tamrielic Lore[1]:241 from the notes that he gathered over the centuries, listing Eleidon's Ward among various items of "unimaginable significance".[2] By the Interregnum, copies of this book circulated throughout Tamriel, providing some general information on the artifact to its readers.[5]

Circa 3E 427, Elante of Alinor and her Mages Guild colleague Badama Andarys uncovered Mordrin Hanin's tomb within Ibar-Dad. The expedition ended in disaster when their summoning failed to conjure anything more than scamps to aid their excavation, and the Nerevarine killed Badama.[6] Elante managed to survive the encounter,[7] but the notes she left behind were used to locate the tomb deep within the depths of Ibar-Dad. There, the Nerevarine defeated the tomb's guardians, and plundered Mordrin's tomb of Eledon's Ward and the rest of his valuables. [6] Later that year, the shield was sold to Torasa Aram, who put it on display in her Museum of Artifacts in Mournhold.[8]
