Pages Needing Images.Edit

I noticed on your user page a list of pages you felt could benefit from images. I've just created a {{NeedsImage}} template, which you can place on those pages, and any other pages you feel could use them. This would place them in the Pages Needing Images category, so that other people might be see the list and contribute, instead of just those who happen to look at your user page. --TheRealLurlock 09:21, 18 October 2006 (EDT)

Thank you so much -- that's great! --Hoggwild5 10:00, 18 October 2006 (EDT)

Have a CookieEdit

You have been given a cookie!

Your dedication and diligence to the wiki has not gone unnoticed. A user has seen the progress you've made, and has given you a cookie because of it. Good work! The user had the following to say:

I'm just surprised that no one beat me to it! I've noticed that you've been doing a lot of good work with the Oblivion NPC pages and the Oblivion quest pages. Keep it up! :)

Does it work now?Edit

Do you still see the giant asymmetrical border of death around thumbnails? --Aristeo | Talk 01:17, 9 November 2006 (EST)

I'm afraid so...sorry--Hoggwild5 01:18, 9 November 2006 (EST)
But, I just noticed that the TOC has disappeared from all the pages on the wiki--Hoggwild5 01:40, 9 November 2006 (EST)
Did you do a hard refresh? --Aristeo | Talk 01:51, 9 November 2006 (EST)
Sorry....my bad. I did and it's gone now! (However, so are the TOCs?)--Hoggwild5 01:55, 9 November 2006 (EST)
Never mind about the TOCs -- it was a setting in my preferences.--Hoggwild5 02:09, 9 November 2006 (EST)
I figured :P --Aristeo | Talk 02:27, 9 November 2006 (EST)
Just so you know (it may be useful...), I also see a thick black border around the thumbnails (this is what you're talking about, right?) on IE6, but they disappear on IE7. --DrPhoton 03:51, 9 November 2006 (EST)

In IRCEdit

I've been thinking about some things, and I'm wondering if you want to come to IRC so we can talk about them. I'll be in there all day. --Aristeo | Talk 13:34, 10 November 2006 (EST)

Thanks for the welcomeEdit

Hey, I'm new to the place, and learning the likes of the wiki. I don't think I'm going to be nearly as serious as some here, but you never know - wiki's can be addicting, especially when dealing with the games you love. So, anyway, I noticed some newbie things I've done already - (i.e. need to make one edit, and not multiple ones) but, I'm working on it. Since I'm currently visiting daedric shrines, I may be working on such pages... just an fyi. Again, thanks for the welcome! --Cdevine 19:53, 16 November 2006 (EST)

IRCEdit

I can't get on right now. Besides, I was only getting on to tell you that I had to leave and couldn't chat anyway. I'm really sorry about that. If you go to my user page you can find my email and email me, or if you have gmail you can chat with me. So I've got to go, but thanks for your interesting in my new pet, Mannimarco. Verin Sedai 23:02, 16 November 2006 (EST)

The server's domain name is having problems. There's an IP that you can connect to that's listed on the IRC page. --Aristeo | Talk 23:16, 16 November 2006 (EST)

MannimarcoEdit

Hey, when you get chance, find a picture of Mannimarco. Thanks! Verin Sedai 14:52, 18 November 2006 (EST)

Mzuleft ArticleEdit

Those numbers are the coordinates to reach Mzuleft. I edited the article to say "(Position: 54208, 175968)". Hopefully, that should clear up any confusion. --Cdevine 01:29, 22 November 2006 (EST)

That's some great news. As I run around morrowind I'll be sure to get more coordinates up on the locations I've visited, and of course, future ones. And great news on the 68% completion for location pages! --Cdevine 01:36, 22 November 2006 (EST)

Pause and Cleanup LocationsEdit

Help FilesEdit

I'm not too happy with the direction that the help files are going. I would prefer for the Help link at the left-hand menu to concentrate on everyone, but it seems like we've been focusing too much on the newcomers and the mechanics of editing rather than the experienced editors and the procedures of editing. Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve on this situation? Have any ideas on how to set it up for improvement? --Aristeo | Talk 19:12, 24 November 2006 (EST)

I actually have alot of thoughts about that. I've been sort of sketching an outline of what I would like to see on the site to make it easier for new users, editors who are experience in wiki but new to UESP, and experienced editors. I may work on this on the plane on the way home since it's virtually impossible to edit maps in flight (too much turbulence).--Hoggwild5 19:24, 24 November 2006 (EST)
If you can work on an outline on what you think would be a good setup, then I can help write the content. Keep in mind that we won't have to start from scratch; incorporate some of the pages that we already have (ex. UESPWiki:Tutorial, UESPWiki:Deletion Policy) into your outline. Once you have it ready and placed in one of your sandboxes, I can add to it and your can add to my version until we have something that's satisfactory. --Aristeo | Talk 19:52, 24 November 2006 (EST)
I started something on User:Aristeo/Sandbox/2. I divided everyone up into three categories: readers, newcomers, and the experienced. The content for readers should focus on navigation and how to read things (it probably won't be too big of a category), the content for newcomers should be basic and should introduce concepts such as signing talk page comments and how to be useful, and the content for experienced editors should concentrate on procedures such as the deletion process and how and when to include spoilers in text. Anyway, I started something on my sandbox and your more than welcome to improve upon it in your spare time. --Aristeo | Talk 20:55, 24 November 2006 (EST)

I uploaded a bunch of images...Edit

Hey, Not sure who to direct this to, but I uploaded a file multiple times (Oops! I won't do it again, I promise). My question is, can someone delete those earlier versions, I'd rather not take up excess space with 3 of the same map.

Thanks! --Cdevine 22:50, 6 December 2006 (EST)

Thanks for letting us know; we'll get it taken care of. --Hoggwild5 01:52, 7 December 2006 (EST)
Done. Sorry it took a while to get to it. --Nephele 22:19, 8 January 2007 (EST)

PatrollersEdit

Since there seem to be no objections to the proposal to start a group of patrollers, I'd like to forward the request on to Daveh in the next couple days and see if we can get it implemented. However, because you've said that you don't plan to continue being an active editor at UESP, I was considering removing your name from the list of patrollers. I'm not implying in any way that I think you wouldn't be a good patroller. It's more that the intent of the patrollers is to identify a group of editors who are already going to be regularly checking the Recent Changes page any way, and to make it easier for that group to share the workload. It doesn't sound like that applies to you any more. If I've in any way misunderstood your plans, please let me know. Or if at some future point you find that you have more free time and would like to get more actively involved again at UESP, I'm sure we could easily get you nominated to be a patroller at that point. But in the meantime, unless I hear otherwise from you, I will assume that you have no objections to your name no longer being included in the current list of proposed patrollers. Thanks! --Nephele 14:15, 7 January 2007 (EST)

About the drama...Edit

I noticed you popped back in and gave your opinion on all the ugliness going on around here right now. I'd urge you to just do as I'm doing and completely ignore it. There's still good work going on here, and your help would definitely be appreciated. I've sort of taken up the reigns of the Morrowind Redesign Project, but it would be good to have another editor as dedicated as yourself back on the project again. I think if people just went back to working to make the site better, contributing content rather than quibbling over policy, we'd be much better off, which is why I've very deliberately chosen not to take any sides in this whole fiasco, and rather just continue to contribute and add content. If enough people do that, it may provide an example for others, and remind us why we're all here in the first place. --TheRealLurlock Talk 11:57, 27 February 2007 (EST)

Regarding the drama, you made a comment about new users getting caught up in the crud. Well, I'm new, and not quite caught up. Point of fact, I'd rather avoid the drama. Now, I've never met you, but I can already tell you're a bit fed up. If you ever need a newb to rant at...call me. Somercy 12:19, 27 February 2007 (EST)

Why can't everyone just admit that I've been right the whole time about everything so we can move on? *sigh*

I don't know how I can put this subtlety, but there's this place on the internet hosted graciously on a site called "ChatSpike" that allows us to come together and talk. Our motto is: No drama, just pirates, ewoks, muffins, rats, goddesses, and hoggs.
I'm sure you've heard of it. If you haven't, then I'm sure you can find your way there.                       --Aristeo | Talk 12:53, 27 February 2007 (EST)

P.S.   <-- an awesome smiley.

Welcome back!Edit

I thought that you and Aristeo left the site for ever. After 46 months, you are back. Welcome back! --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 19:53, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

       __    !   __   __   __  __      .--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 21:34, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
TAO, you missed a "M" at the "Welcome". --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 21:40, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! Just checking things out. --Hoggwild5 22:48, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Just checking things out? You were missing for almost 4 years, and now you are back. I hope you stay (you will, right?). --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 22:54, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Well, I don't have as much free time as I used to have (busy with iPhone programming and teaching Objective-C classes), but I ran across my Morrowind game a few days agon and thought I might give it a try again.  :) --Hoggwild5 22:57, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
In that case my message seems appropriately vague :)--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 23:22, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the welcome back....I am, sort of. We'll see how it goes. :) --Hoggwild5 23:29, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Hopefully, well! Now I'm going to stop bothering you and work on the Hulgren Octumvirate.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 23:31, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Where is Aristeo? --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 23:35, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
I don't know....I found him online a few months ago, but haven't seen him since. He was running an IRC server (I think the info's on his user page here) and doing the "college" thing.--Hoggwild5 00:00, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

QuestionEdit

Hi i have a small inquiry about the article you created Morrowind:Telvanni Agents. What did you mean by this line "The agents are also members of the Thieves Guild. If you're a member this can cause some complications, so make sure if you take them out, no one sees you."? If you could elaborate a little by what you mean because the agents are reported as hostile and it would help to understand the line better. --Rent A Troop 17:25, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

It means if you're also a member of the Thieves Guild then killing them will get you kicked out if you're seen doing it.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 21:57, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
what about the aggression factor though? doesn't that negate the removal from the thieves guild since they'll be striking first. i still unsure who would see it if they're the only 3 in the cave. --Rent A Troop 23:49, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
The important part is that most of them are Thieves Guild. There are ways to kill them without them hitting first, but they do not need to be mentioned on every single page. --Brf 00:23, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
