Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Enter Gallows Hall, the small fortress on the northern shore of Mara's Eye Pond.
  2. Read Naara's Journal.
  3. Read the first clue.
  4. Choose the following torches in this order: Morthal, Falkreath, Nightgate Inn, Fort Dunstad
  5. Retrieve the Staff of Worms.
  6. Reanimate the Skeleton Mage found to the East of the initial entrance to this room.
  7. Retrieve a key by searching the Skeleton Mage.
  8. Take the contents of the safe the key opens left of the Enchanting Table.
  9. Read the second clue.
  10. Turn around and pray to the small Statue of Vaermina.
  11. Go to sleep in the bed roll next to the Altar of the Revenant at the center of the room.
  12. Starting from left of the Statue of Vaermina, search the coffin in front of you for a Dreamer's Greater Soul Gem. Find another in the hand of the skeleton in the open coffin next to it, the search the closed coffin on the lowest shelf on the other side of the main entrance.
  13. Read the final instructions.
  14. Place the Dreamer's Greater Soul Gems in the Soul Gem Holders.

As you approach the wooden door on the first floor of Gallows Hall, it will slam closed and the room will fill with a mist and objects in the room will start to fly around. You will need to read Naara's journal, which can be found next to her body. The journal will mention that the map in the room is a good place to start, as you look over at the map, there is a clue placed on it.

120 I've found myself trapped in a necromancer's house. After solving a series of puzzles, I picked up a note sitting on the altar placed in the middle of the room. According to the note, I need to activate the altar using the soul gems I've picked up to free myself from this trap.

200 ☑Finishes quest While traveling Skyrim, I found myself trapped in a necromancer's house. After solving a series of puzzles, I found a note sitting on the altar placed in the middle of the room. I activated the altar and the door in front of me opened. I can now make use of the fort as a personal home.
