Fa'ren-dar

Fa'ren-dar is a Khajiit found in Abah's Landing. He is known as a "claw-cutter", a thief who specializes in stealing from other thieves. Once you have completed The Long Game, Velsa will advise you to find Fa'ren-dar, who has valuable information regarding heists. After you've spoken to him during the related quest, he will relocate to the Thieves Den and can be found at the Heist Board, where he will offer daily heist jobs.

Master of HeistsEdit

After Velsa directs you to find him, he can be found at Pick Your Poison, the brewer stall in Promenade.

"Ah, Velsa tells me you were the one who freed Fa'ren-dar from Cosh's leash."
That's right.
"The cub is more seasoned than she admits, but Fa'ren-dar's eyes are sharper than his claws. Tongue too, where Velsa is concerned. I have missed her conversation.
Both are the guild's to serve, and so now they serve you too."
Velsa said you could help me locate some big scores.
"A good tip is only one of the services I provide, boss. Think of Fa'ren-dar as your observer, guide, and porter. You handle the theft, I will handle the rest."
Let's hear more about these tip-offs.
"Fa'ren-dar's little birds post things of interest at the guild. If something catches your eye too, speak up and we plan the heist.
Go through me, or not at all. We don't want members stepping on each other's toes, or skimping on their dues."
What do you mean by guide?
"Wealth in Abah's Landing comes and goes like its tides. What washes in isn't here for long, or left about like flotsam to be scooped up by any passerby. There are many hidden nooks where such things are tucked away.
Fa'ren-dar knows them all."
Porter? You're starting to sound like a butler.
"Perhaps I am. A very sneaky butler, who ensures that all things reach their proper destination. Loot from an industrious thief's sticky fingers into a wanting buyer's tender embrace, and gold from a happy buyer's pocket to a deserving thief's palm."
I'm ready for my first heist. (Appears after you ask one of the questions.)
"Then we should see what my magpies have brought back to the nest. I'll await you at the tip board in the guild hall."
See you there.

You can then go to the Thieves Den and find that he has arrived before you, in his "side office", going over notes and charts.

"Soon we should teach you to spot a tail, and shake one. It is not Khajiit dancing I am referring to, though I am told I am great partner.
You will need to be quite aware of your surroundings on a heist. There is often little room for error."
I'll bear that in mind. Can I get started now?
"Of course, boss, I'm eager to see you in action. Bring me a posting and we'll be on our way."

If you talk to him again after finishing the introductory quest but before checking the Tip Board:

"Well, boss, it has been my pleasure to show you the ropes. There are always new opportunities arising in Abah's Landing, so I'll expect to see you again soon. I look forward to it!"

HeistsEdit

Speaking to him before picking up or after completing a heist:

"Fa'ren-dar can move things from place to place when a boss needs. Goods, coin, people too sometimes. Find me if you have such a need, boss."

Speaking to him if you exit the heist area and talk to him in the Den:

"Left your picks on the bedstand this morning? Best hurry, if you're ready now."
I'm ready now. Take me back to the heist.

Speaking to him at any heist area before you start:

"The hideout is just beyond. I would only be underfoot. Meet me here when you have the goods."

Deadhollow HallsEdit

After you have picked this tip from the board, you can talk to Fa'ren-dar about the Halls before starting.

"Fresh tip caught your interest? I know the place. Say the word and we can all be a little richer today."
I'm ready. Take me to the heist.
(Transports you to Deadhollow Halls.)
Deadhollow Halls sounds a little ominous. What can you tell me before we go?
"An old overgrown Daedra shrine frequented by those who value privacy. Nothing to worry about aside from those who've taken roost. I think."
Reassuring. Alright, let's head there now. (Enters Heist.)

When you return from collecting the Daedric treasures, his response to you will depend on whether you got back before the time limit expired. If you failed the complete the Bonus Objective:

"Not every job goes according to plan, but that does not mean we need to run off with our tails between our legs. You got the goods, Fa'ren-dar will sniff out another buyer soon enough!"
Let's get back to the Den.

Once back at the Thieves Den, he will assure you that he still found someone to buy the goods.

"Any job you can walk away from is a good one."
The buyers still around?
"The deal is off, but it's no trouble, boss. I'll find another outlet for these goods. Fa'ren-dar always comes through."

If you managed to return to him in time and complete the bonus objective, he will instead say:

"Well done, boss. You're living up to your reputation. I'll get these sold in the flick of a tail and have your take at the Den once the guild clears it. Don't forget to collect or it might grow legs."

Talking to him at the Den:

"Got your latest cut of the profits right here, boss."
Thanks, Fa'ren.
"There are few who could meet the needs of these buyers on such short notice. Your skills have made us all a hearty sum. The guild is sure to take note."

Glittering GrottoEdit

After you have picked this tip from the board, you can ask Fa'ren-dar about the place before starting the heist.

"Fresh tip caught your interest? I know the place. Say the word and we can all be a little richer today."
I'm ready. Take me to the heist.
(Takes you to the Glittering Grotto.)
Glittering Grotto doesn't sound so bad. Nice even.
"It is a beautiful place, but don't let the gleam distract you from the dangers within. The lush overgrowth makes it ideal for traps of all kinds. Mind your toes if you wish to keep them."
The notice mentioned not to disturb the security.
"Stinks of an inside job to me, but if our buyer wants to skim a little off the top, who are we to judge? We will charge extra for the added care, of course."
I'll try not to get tripped up. Let's get on with the heist then.

When you return from collecting the valuables, his response to you will depend on whether you got back before the time limit expired. If you failed the complete the Bonus Objective:

"Not every job goes according to plan, but that does not mean we need to run off with our tails between our legs. You got the goods, Fa'ren-dar will sniff out another buyer soon enough!"
Let's get back to the Den.

Talking to him at the Den:

"Got your latest cut of the profits right here, boss."
Your gem buyer come through?
"They tried to make a fuss about the traces you left during the job, but Fa'ren-dar knows the value of a little blackmail to ensure the agreed upon price.
Your share, boss. It may not have the beauty of stones, but I find the jingle quite fetching."

If you completed the Bonus Objective:

"Well done, boss. You're living up to your reputation. I'll get these sold in the flick of a tail and have your take at the Den once the guild clears it. Don't forget to collect or it might grow legs."
Let's get back to the Den.

Talking to him at the Den:

"Got your latest cut of the profits right here, boss."
Your gem buyer come through?
"Their eyes shone brighter than the stones themselves. It was a simple thing to get them to part with a little extra for the flawless services you provided.
Your cut, boss. Enjoy."

The HideawayEdit

After you have picked this tip from the board, you can talk to Fa'ren-dar about the place before starting the heist.

"Fresh tip caught your interest? I know the place. Say the word and we can all be a little richer today."
I'm ready. Take me to the heist.
(Transports you to the Hideaway.)
The Hideaway isn't real descriptive. What can you tell me about it?
"I would think its purpose is pretty clear, but it's the finer details that are of interest, eh? A smugglers' cove of some convenience, a little too well known for anyone to stick around for long. Expect the current tenants to be quite vigilant."
I'll exercise extra caution. Take me to the heist.

When you return from collecting the valuables, his response to you will depend on whether you got back before the time limit expired. If you failed to complete the Bonus Objective:

"Not every job goes according to plan, but that does not mean we need to run off with our tails between our legs. You got the goods, Fa'ren-dar will sniff out another buyer soon enough!"
Let's get back to the Den.

Talking to him at the Den:

"Got your latest cut of the profits right here, boss."
How'd we do?
"Not bad. We'll have some heat on us for a little while, but the goods will still move. They always do.
Here's your take, boss. Until next time."

When you return from collecting the valuables, his response to you will depend on whether you got back before the time limit expired. If you complete the Bonus Objective:

"Well done, boss. You're living up to your reputation. I'll get these sold in the flick of a tail and have your take at the Den once the guild clears it. Don't forget to collect it or it might grow legs."
Let's get back to the Den.

Talking to him at the Den:

"Got your latest cut of the profits right here, boss."
Thanks, Fa'ren-dar.
"You outdid yourself this time. Thanks to your skill we got an even bigger payday than normal. Nice work."

Secluded SewersEdit

After you have picked this tip from the board, you can talk to Fa'ren-dar about the place before starting the heist.

"Fresh tip caught your interest? I know the place. Say the word and we can all be a little richer today."
I'm ready. Take me to the heist.
(Transports you to the Secluded Sewers.)
I'm really supposed to go rob a sewer?
"Oh yes, a place of untold treasure. If you like rats. Personally, I find them delicious.
Abah's Landing has many cracks to fall through, boss. Some choose to wriggle down them and stay beneath notice. Many times they have something worth hiding."
Point taken. Let's get to the heist. (Enters Heist.)

Once back at the Thieves Den, he will assure you that he still found someone to buy the goods.

"Any job you can walk away from is a good one."
I'm tired, dirty, and damp. Tell me there's good news.
"Crime is dirty business, boss. Best to discourage it from getting dirtier. Show that we are squeamish and soon everyone will keep their precious things in outhouses and chamber pots.
Have a soak and count your coin, it'll improve your mood."

If you managed to return to him in time and complete the bonus objective, he will instead say:

"Well done, boss. You're living up to your reputation. I'll get these sold in the flick of a tail and have your take at the Den once the guild clears it. Don't forget to collect or it might grow legs."
Let's get back to the Den.

Talking to him at the Den:

"Got your latest cut of the profits right here, boss."
I hope this haul was worth slinking through sewer filth.
"I didn't think grime could stick to one so slick as you, boss. The buyers were quite pleased with the pace with which the goods passed through and dumped a tidy sum on our doorstep.
Gold has a way of clearing the air, does it not?"

Underground SepulcherEdit

"Fresh tip caught your interest? I know the place. Say the word and we can all be a little richer today."
I'm ready. Take me to the heist.
(Transports you to Underground Sepulcher.)
Underground Sepulcher. This isn't a tomb robbery, is it?
"No, no. The guild has more interest in gold that still glitters. Old tunnels simply make for good shelter from prying eyes, unless they know where to look.
These recent arrivals are sure to have set snares and sentries, so waste no care on ghosts."
I'll try not to get spooked. Take me to the heist. (Enters Heist.)

"Any job you can walk away from is a good one."
What's the score on the sepulcher heist?
"Grave. I kid, of course, but with the buyers spooked I'll need to offload them through different channels. Your work was still worth a good bit, so don't worry about it.
Here's your take, boss. Keep it someplace less dusty, eh?"

What's the score on the sepulcher heist?
"Our buyers were quite pleased with their "inheritance" and our fee reflects all your added care. I think you'll be quite pleased.
You've spent enough time in tombs today. Go out and live a little—I'll have something else lined up by tomorrow."
