- Drain Essence: Consume an enemy's life force, dealing [1725 / 1744 / 1763 / 1784] Magic Damage and restoring [12 / 13 / 14 / 15]% of your missing Health every 1 second for 3 seconds. After you finish draining, the enemy is stunned for 3 seconds.
- Invigorating Drain: Consume an enemy's life force, dealing 1782 Magic Damage, restoring 15% of your missing Health, and generating [2 / 3 / 4 / 5] Ultimate every 1 second for 3 seconds. When you finishing draining, the enemy is stunned for 3 seconds.
- Accelerating Drain: Consume an enemy's life force, dealing 1782 Magic Damage and restoring 15% of your missing Health every 0.7 seconds for 3 seconds. After you finish draining, the enemy is stunned for 3 seconds. When the drain ends you gain Minor Expedition, increasing your Movement Speed by 10% for [17 / 18 / 19 / 20] seconds.
Drain Essence deals Magic Damage to a single target and heals you for the same amount, and also stuns the target for 3 seconds. The Invigorating Drain also grants you Ultimate during the attack, while Accelerating Drain increases your Movement Speed after the effect ends.
Following Update 26, Drain Essence was turned into Vampiric Drain, and all progress made with it was transferred to its respective new skill counterparts.

- This ability can now critical hit and be mitigated by spell resistance.
- Fixed an issue where you could spam this ability on immune targets for free Crystal Fragments procs.
- Midnight Drain: Renamed this ability to Accelerating Drain, and it now grants the caster the Minor Expedition buff for 20 seconds after draining an enemy.
- Shadow Cloak: This ability and its morphs will now correctly cancel an attacker's channel for the following abilities:
- Drain Essence and its morphs
- Flurry and its morphs
- Lightning Staff heavy attacks
- Restoration Staff heavy attacks
The summoned Storm Atronach's Zap
- This ability now restores 10% of your health every second, and stuns your target on activation. It can be used on CC-immune targets, and can be used all the time (it no longer activates the Feed debuff).
- Fixed an issue where this ability was displaying an extra effect icon on your character screen.
- This ability will now properly end if the target breaks line of sight with the caster.
- This ability will now be properly removed if the caster dies.
- Fixed an issue with this ability and its morphs where you would get stuck in the animation if it was the killing blow on an enemy.
- This ability and its morphs now tick 3 times over their channel durations, down from 4, but their damage per tick has been increased and they now restore 20% of your missing health per tick to compensate.
- Soulshine: Fixed an issue where this Item Set was not granting its Spell Damage bonus to Drain Essence and its morphs.
- Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs would fail to cast if you used it against a crowd-control immune enemy while you were blocking.
- Removed the 1 second delay on this ability and its morphs before it deals damage.
- The channel from this ability can no longer be dodged.
- Reduced the damage per tick by approximately 11%, but the additional tick it now deals results in an increase of damage by approximately 89%.
- This ability and its morphs now heal for up to 15% of your Missing Health per tick, down from 20%, to retain the 60% of your Missing Health over 3 seconds.
- Accelerating Drain: Increased the frequency of damage and healing this ability deals, resulting in 1 extra tick of damage and healing.
- The stun from this ability and its morphs now occurs when the cast completes, rather than when it begins.
- Fixed an issue where casting this ability in rapid succession could cause it to get stuck and cause various animation issues.
