The Soulshriven Tower (formerly known as Birdsong Tower) is a ruined tower found along the shores of Stormhaven, within the province of High Rock. The Soulshriven Tower once contained the gardens of Princess Violetta, a member of the Gardner Dynasty. That was until the Daedric Prince of Domination, Molag Bal had placed a blight onto the garden, defiling it with the undead.
Constructed as the Birdsong Tower, this landmark was owned by Princess Violetta Gardner of Wayrest. It was built on an overlook on the edge of Menevia, towards the Bjoulsae River. It contained Violetta's garden, before Emeric would become High King of High Rock. It was a place of virtue, where flowers would blossom, birds would sing, and lovers embraced. But its purity would bring the attention of Molag Bal, God of Schemes, who took offense to it. Molag Bal would call upon the undead and used them to infect Birdsong Tower. Ever since then, the site became known as Soulshriven Tower. The tower would host undead and necromancers, who capture victims to perform to rituals that connect Tamriel to Coldharbour.
During the Interregnum in 2E 582, a priestess of Stendarr found three victims of the necromancers in the Soulshriven Tower. She sends a wandering adventurer to rescue the captives before they are killed in the ritual. All the while, the adventurer found a cursed skull, who recognized the adventurer's status as the Soulless One. The Soulless One was able to free the captives, and disposed of the other tormented skulls, freeing their spirits. Because of this, the region of Stormhaven had become a blind spot in Molag Bal's invasion of Tamriel at the time, the Planemeld.
