Isobel Veloise will have received a letter from her friend Aurelia Jourvel who was sightseeing in Stros M'kai. Aurelia was recently robbed of several of her personal items, including a family signet ring that Isobel had once given her. However, when you arrive in Port Hunding Aurelia will inform you that her travelling companion Kiv Lindres was the one to have robbed her. After tracking him to Seyda Neen and meeting another of his victims, a letter to Kiv will lead you to looking for Julles in Wayrest.

As you approach the Temple of the Divines, a sad Julles can be found walking out of the doors:

Julles Laurdon: "How could have I trusted him?"

It appears Kiv has struck again, speak with Julles to see what he knows:

"Is there something you need? This is a rather difficult time."
Are you Julles Laurdon? We're trying to track down Kiv Lindres.
"Kiv! What? Have you found him? Is he all right?
Steady on, Julles. You're better than this. Let me start again. I know Kiv. Very well. I believe he made off with several items of value. In fact, I handed one to him personally."
Do you know where he's gone?
"I poked through his things when he was bathing. I found a note from someone named Goldleaf about a meeting in Belkarth. The note seemed as much … personal as business.
I confronted him, and now he's gone. I've half a mind to warn this Goldleaf."
Thank you, Julles.

At this point, Galedra Athram will arrive and convince Julles to join her in her quest for revenge:

Galedra Athram: "Are you Julles? I can tell by your face that fetcher left you in the lurch."
Isobel Veloise: "This is just like a romance novel I read once."
Julles Laurdon: "Oh no. You poor thing! That dastardly man, how could he?"
Galedra Athram: "I decided these two have the right idea. You want to help track him down? I plan to make sure he remembers me."
Julles Laurdon: "By the Eight you're right. Self-pity serves no one. Young lady, Kiv has gone to Belkarth. Let's go."

Speaking with Julles before talking to Isobel:

"I am a foolish, foolish man who thought himself smart and worldly.
I was taken in by a pretty face and a jawline that could cut glass … I'm still a bit stung by the whole affair. Do forgive me my mood."

After speaking with Isobel and before leaving Wayrest:

"Honestly, I find this quite invigorating. Taking action against a scoundrel, seeking justice for the spurned!
I rather do wish he hadn't been so dashing."

Once you arrive in Belkarth, you can find Engelreth Goldleaf in the inn upstairs, but when you arrive, Galedra and Julles are already talking to him:

Isobel Veloise: "Looks like our, uh. Friends are already here."
Galedra Athram: "Goldleaf, you have to listen. That fetcher will just cut and run, the same as he did to us."
Engelreth Goldleaf: "Oof, you're giving me a headache. And what's this, more of you? This is not how I figured today would go."
Isobel Veloise: "Let's talk to Goldleaf. See what he knows."
Julles Laurdon: "She's not lying. He broke my heart! Listen to the young woman."

Talking with Julles, he can recognize the signs in Goldleaf:

"I think this Goldleaf character got charmed by that damnable rogue just as easily as I did!"

After speaking with Engelreth, he will tell you where he was going to meet Kiv. You and Isobel will go there in his stead:

"We shall be right behind you, adventurer.
Just try not to hurt his beautiful face, all right? It's so pleasant to look at."

You will find Kive Lindres in the basement, and the people he was meeting with will run away. Kiv will then attack you, but soon surrenders. Talking with him, he will make a deal; the ring's location for his life. You then reveal his "friends" also want a word with him:

Kiv Landres: "Wait. What friends?"
Galedra Athram: "Hello you fetching fetcher. You cost me my job."
Julles Laurdon: "I feel we've come up with punishment that fit his crimes. And we'd like you to choose. Please and thank you."

Talking with them both, the pair have different ideas. Galedra wants to use one of her mixtures on him, while Julles has a different idea:

"Galedra and I have rather different perspectives on punishing Kiv, but we agree he must face some measure of justice.
If we just turn him over the guards, I suspect he'll charm his way out of jail. The same way he charmed me out of … nevermind."
How do you think he should be punished?
"Well, Kiv made me feel quite foolish. But I'm not actually angry with him. I want to cherish the time I had with the rogue.
Mara protect a loving heart from such mistakes. I propose to make arrangements to have Kiv taken to a remote monastery."
Why would he stay there?
"Oh, the Brothers of the Bond are a strict order. Kiv won't be able to leave for one full year. It's my hope that he will learn from their philosophy.
Also they are a strictly celibate group. I believe that will help him clear his mind."
That seems like a fitting punishment.
Let me think about it. (Ends Conversation)

If you decide to go with Julles' idea:

Julles Laurdon: "Kiv, I am taking you on a journey. Time spent in contemplation and service among the Brothers of the Bond will make you … a better person."
Kiv Landres: "Hey wait, no. I'm not going to any monastery."
Galedra Athram: "Nighty-night, Kiv."
<Kiv falls unconscious.>
Julles Laurdon: "Thank you, Galedra. By the time that wears off, we'll be halfway to the monastery."

Speaking with him afterwards:

"It does make me a bit sad that Kiv will not appreciate the favor I'm doing for him. Many would pay well to have the time, solitude and space to contemplate their life decisions.
My hope is that he will emerge all the better for this experience."

If you go with Galedra's idea, the alchemy concoction will have turned him into a spider. It gives Julles some ideas:

"I am quite impressed with Galedra's alchemical technique! I thought it was mostly good for potions and such. But that clever woman uses alchemy as a weapon.
I do believe the three of us may go into business together!"
