glitch?Edit

The Emperor was killed and I have to go through a passage to the sewers. I think I've got the right passage because there's only two ways out of the room but my character refuses to move past looking into the passage. The assassin is lying dead in front of two steps and I press W, Q, E to no avail. My character can't move forward. What am I doing wrong??? — Unsigned comment by Wiccanhot (talkcontribs)

Take a step back then jump forward. --Gaebrial 08:34, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

managed to keep renault alive.. somewhatEdit

recently i was checking something on the tutorial, and for the fun of it, turned the difficulty all the way down and tried to keep her alive. after getting all the mythic dawn assassins killed without captain renault dying, she didnt move at all, and only responded when i did something, such as talking or attacking, but the attack killed her.. oops Mikeyboy52 12:43, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

  • Her death is scripted so if you attack her just once she will die. JackTurbo95 12:25, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Update, I managed to keep renault alive but as soon as the rats start coming, she dies. it seems no matter what, she will die. MikeTalk 14:47, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
Like I said , as soon as she is hit once , her health goes straight to 0. I spent ages trying to keep her alive , but one hit and she dies. JackTurbo95 15:02, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Keeping Renault's/Glenroy's katanasEdit

After Urial Septim dies and Baurus asks you what class you are, immediately enter the pathway the Assassin came out of. Baurus will be unable to follow you so he can't take the katanas. Since you recieved the key from him at the same time you picked your class, you can leave the sewers. The only drawback that I have found so far is this prevents the main quest from starting until you go back and speak to Baurus (and possibly the permanent termination of the main quest if you do the Dark Brotherhood quest Schedualed for Execution). 72.39.132.215 04:01, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Doesn't work, it appears as they are scripted to be removed from the game entirely. I tried 30 times with a Dunmer and each time that theory failed. Mikeyboy52 04:24, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
I don't see how it is possible to run away from Baurus after he ask you which race you are, since you can only leave the conversation until the very end (even after he takes away the katanas from you). In any case, Mikeyboy52 is also right, there's no way of keeping them as they are scripted to be removed and even if it works I don't think it would be worth messing up your game just to keep them. --S'drassa T2M 04:37, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
How about storing the katanas in a container, like the bodies of one of the Assassins, then going and talking to Baurus, Would that work? --Darkheart 18:47, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Nope, there's already a topic above (here) in which the same thing was discussed, but they got to the same conclusion: the katanas are scripted to forcibly be removed from the game, even if you store them in a container they will simply disappear. --S'drassa T2M 18:54, 17 January 2010 (UTC)

Copies of both of their swords can be found in the area known as "Testing Hall". I've had to fetch those in order to give them to Baurus when I somehow lost the originals. I've also fetched them to give to Captain Renault and Glenroy, after Baurus takes them away. (That's when I "cheat" to keep those two alive, either by Console Command or by a mod-provided spell that allows you to set characters as essential or not.) By the way, have you guys and gals noticed that when you get to the temple, that there are empty hooks by the ceiling, just waiting for more swords to be placed there amongts those already there? Leo Star Dragon 1 08:06, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Actually, this does work. I've done it multiple times. You get up on the ledge and initiate the first conversation with Baurus. Then after you're done picking your sign, you back away from Baurus quickly before he can initiate the second conversation where he takes the katanas back. The drawback of this glitch is that you can't complete the main quest once you leave the sewers no matter what. Even going back and trying to talk to Baurus won't work as he won't update the quest. --141.149.79.137 14:28, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Hold the torch?Edit

I wonder if i encountered a new glitch? When m character regroups with the emperor and blades and after i choose m birthsign, baurus doesnt initiate dialog to give me a torch...in fact all 3 npcs just stand there and when i talked to baurus he had the two standard questions that can be asked. i had to wait for a few hours until he initiated talk with me. doors were locked up until that point and i couldnt progress. First time i encountered such an annoying and blatant bug in tutorial level — Unsigned comment by 24.168.69.71 (talk) on 17 January 2010

Hmm, I don't remember getting a torch and this may be just a one-off but I will try to recreate.--Corevette789 03:28, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
You do in fact get a torch, there's a message in the top left corner and its in your inventory, miscellaneous section, that's the one on the far right Mikeyboy52 03:52, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
You only get the torch from Baurus if you don't have one equipped the moment you speak with him. --S'drassa T2M 15:52, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes, but i couldnt progress because I had torch equipped and Baurus wouldnt initiate conversation after i chose birthsign. After i initiated conversation npcs still didnt move to unlock door for next area. I had to wait a few times and then keep equipping and unequipping torch I had alread until baurus gave me one. Im wondering if this is a glitch that occurs a good percentage of the time if our character already has a torch equipped when speaking to baurus after choosing birthsign.

I've gone through the tutorial many many times, each time when the captain dies, I take the Katana and the torch and equip both. It allows you to see the treasure chest at the beginning and the barrel also, further down there's a treasure chest and a lot of them in the sewers.Mikeyboy52 05:47, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Odd Glitch Before Receiving Amulet of KingsEdit

I encountered a strange AI glitch where after glenroy and baurus run to confront assassins (right before the emperor engages me in conversation to hand over amulet), two assassins ran right for me even though i was right next to emperor and quickly killed me before emperor spoke to me. Usually, only two assassins jump down to fight the blades, but this time four came down...with two of them running right for me and the emperor. This never happened before to me through countless runs through tutorial. The strange thing is that when I reloaded, the same thing occurred, but this time i held out until the emperor spoke to me. As soon as he did, the assassins just suddenly died, which was very odd. I was wondering if this can be a race-related glitch or something, being that this is first time i played through tutorial as a breton?

Doesn't sound like a glitch, just effects of the scripting. I always play imperial and seems like this always happens. There is actually 4 assassins who appear to fight Baurus and Glenroy (and a fifth one who jumps out from a different area and kills the emperor). The 4 assassins respawn quickly, which you can see happen if you are not anywhere near the emperor (so he can't talk to you, which triggers his killer to attack). As soon as the emperor talks to you the assassins (or some of them) are scripted to die so that Baurus can help you kill the emperor's assassin (so he's not busy killing 4 assassins himself since Glenroy is scripted to die). All the other games you played, probably resulted in 2 assassins getting killed while they were still standing up on the ledge by the doors they come out of. Bamspeedy 00:49, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Random Slaughter FishEdit

(moved from Oblivion talk:Clothing#Random Slaughter Fish)

Ya, i am an experienced player, but this is a new problem. Whenever i make a new character and finish the sewer tutorial, i will exit the sewers and jump into the water and swim to the ruins across from me. But for some reason, a swarm of slaughterfish appear and kill me, i have no mods and this hasn't been a problem before.......Any opinions? — Unsigned comment by Garrot (talkcontribs) on 30 April 2010

There shouldn't be more than one fish in that area so it's definitely odd. How many are in the "swarm"? Maybe try crossing further south where the river is narrower, or just don't cross at all and go somewhere else. rpeh •TCE 06:24, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
I just spotted 3 slaughter fish but they didn't even come close to killing me. difficulty was default. you might want to check difficulty next time garrot. MikeTalk 14:51, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Editing the Notes sectionEdit

I've trimmed the notes section down to three items. There were two items that I took away entirely:

  1. the note about taking Baurus' sword (this takes forever; if you stay away from the emperor when the guard tells you to "protect the Emperor with your life," the four Mystic Dawn agents will respawn. Eventually, Baurus' sword will go dull, prompting him to toss the useless thing. You can then take and keep it)
  2. and the note about the four points of no return (I believe that there's actually five, but who cares?) The note had no explanation of how to take advantage of that, and I don't think that any of the stuff is so valuable that you absolutely couldn't deal without (except for collectors, who probably already know this stuff, and the ways of getting around the encumbrance problem)

Okay, I saw this post above me and I thought why not give it a try to collect every single item in the dungeon? Well the 4th point of no return is the door which will ALWAYS LOCK (when barbus says I don't like this), making it impossible to carry more then 299lbs of items(more if only your light/heavy armour reduces weight) through it. I'm at 626/300 at the potions chest right before the door with 69 gold. So its impossible I think. :/(btw, I'm an ultra noob at wiki, so i'm still learning)Twig Wick 13:04, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Anyway, I thought I'd leave a note of my rationale Um the Muse 05:26, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Very bold editing, but it looks fine to me. The sheer volume of notes on that page was annoying. I'm not sure about putting the "Note that this pardon..." section into the main text though. It rather breaks the flow. rpeh •TCE 09:23, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback, rpeh. To tell you the truth, I wasn't sure if people were still interested in trying to reduce the notes sections or not. As for the problematic section, I think that you are right, in that it is jarring. However, I think that it does make sense to put it near the top of the page (by the time you get to the bottom, you've presumably gone past a point of no return; besides, this was half the reason the notes section looked unwieldy). If you've got a better idea of where to put it, by all means, feel free. As you can probably tell, I'm a new editor here. Um the Muse 03:46, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

CrashEdit

Whenever I open try to go into the sewers my game crashes. Why? Yours Truly,Ersc, Slayer of Cabbage 11:00, 29 January 2011 (UTC) i used "Movetoqt" to get to Jauffre and then fast travelled to Kvatch but when I entered the Oblivion gate it crashes (PC GOTY)Love, Ersc, Slayer of Cabbage 11:18, 29 January 2011 (UTC) will destroy you!

Most likely reason is a scratched disk. rpeh •TCE 11:45, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

How many assassins are there?Edit

Ok, so decided to level my blade skill. I began fighting the assassins in the end of the place, then my game hacked because of, around 50 dead bodies. Now, on top of that: I decided to move them all into a pile and count them. When I used the grab function, the corpse dissapeared. After some testing, this happened with rats, skeletons, and even Umaril. But, the bigger it was, the faster it dissapeared.

Creature/NPC Time
Rat 13 seconds
Ogre 8 seconds
Assassins 10 seconds
Umaril 6 seconds
Skeleton Strangely, actually 40 seconds
Storm atronach 145 seconds

-That all has to do with the settings. The game deletes dead bodies to help prevent severe lag. The four settings I list below probably deal with it. iRemoveExcessDeadComplexCount iRemoveExcessDeadComplexTotalActorCount iRemoveExcessDeadCount iRemoveExcessDeadTotalActorCount http://cs.elderscrolls.com/Category:Settings Bamspeedy 01:19, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

The note about pickpocketing the amulet of kingsEdit

Doesn't he wear it? You can't pickpocket the amulet if he wears it, so I'll remove it. Anyone who wants to put it back can do it.--Calonderiel 06:26, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Good spot. There are still a lot of notes to clear up on the quests... rpeh •TCE 09:13, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Moved bugEdit

  • The last sewer rat you come upon (before you leave the sewers) isn't hostile, making it the ideal creature to exploit for Sneak experience.

Might be notable else where but I don't see the relevancy having it here. --AKB Talk 05:25, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi! In case you haven't noticed this before, "Sewer Rat" is unique compared to the rest as they are just "Rats". The three that run away from the zombie sometimes aren't hostile, depending on how they first see you approaching them. I.e., are you equipped with your weapon showing or aren't. If you free the captive Rats and they survive the Goblins, they may also be neutral to you. Sewer Rat however, as never been hostile to me unless attacked first. The description for him or her shows that it isn't hostile. So with the "Teleport Companion" mod that I use, I like to rename "Sewer Rat" to "Splinter the Sewer Rat" and take him or her home with me, usually to Skingrad or Frostcrag, a place with large enough space for him to roam. I've also tried saving the other Rats too, when they don't attack. However, those Rats don't get along with Sewer Rat. I've always wondered if "Sewer Rat" was an inside joke that was meant to make you think of "Splinter" and/or if there might have been a quest element in which you have a pet rat in your cell, as some characters in movies are known to have. By the way, there have been times when I've had to use "TCL" to go under the floor and save him from drowning in the water underneath, as he sometimes falls through. Leo Star Dragon 1 07:54, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Dunmer.Edit

I have never played Arena or Daggerfall but in Morrowind and Oblivion the first person you meet is a dunmer. Odd or ? JackTurbo95 12:24, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

It's just coincidence. The first person you meet in Redguard is a Redguard. In Shadowkey it's a rat. rpeh •TCE 12:55, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Didn't know that about either of them (because I haven't played them) but oh well! JackTurbo95 15:25, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Keeping the Glenroy and Renaults KatanasEdit

I barely figured this out , you are going to need to have The Lovers birthsign . First When Baurus is about to talk, to you Paralyze him [ He has to talk to you when the Uriel died and he rushes in] Next press the activate button to talk to him, Last, after the conversation he wont say anything else until the spell wares off or activating him .You'll need to end the conversastion of the birthsign and quickly escape before he will say about wheres the amulet of kings and thanks for recoveing [any of the two Katanas or both] Katanas. Major note the main quest will not start until you go back and talk to Baurus . Even if you talk to Jauffre the quest will not start. Hope you enjoy the Katanas!!!!!! or not, i have no idea . Write me a message if you need help or anything. — Unsigned comment by Carlangelo200 (talkcontribs) at 00:18 on March 7, 2011

This ACTUALLY works, and if you use a duplicating method, you will be able to keep a copy of the katanas when you go back to finish the quest. Thanks for this method. MikeTalk 14:49, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
Oh wait, just realized that I forgot to mention I duplicated with console, anyways, you cant leave the sewers unless you get the iron key. MikeTalk 15:04, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

How to get these three journal entries to appear?Edit

I've never managed to get the three Tutorial "quest" journal entries with the stages 92, 94 and 96 (the ones about your quest log). Is it even possible to get them and if so, does anyone know how? — Unsigned comment by 84.249.94.201 (talk) at 15:18 on March 13, 2011

These stages appear to have been set, but then later the associated script was commented out. In game there is no way to activate those stages.--DKong27 Talk Cont 20:29, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

gaining experienceEdit

Should it be noted that you can gain some good experience from fighting the assassins at the end if so should i add it in the notes? 68.231.197.3 21:07, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

You gain equal skills experience from any enemy, as it is by using skills, not by killing enemies. Killing enemies in itself gives absolutely no experience alone. --DKong27 Talk Cont 21:20, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
It should also be noted that, after the Emperor is dead, you can engage Baurus, retreat back to the barred gate room, climb ontop of a crumbled pillar a jump up to a ledge where he cannot reach you, and you are free to practice Archery or Destruction or various other applicable skills. I had 16 Acrobatics, 45 speed and I was a Khajit when I came across this. — Unsigned comment by 96.48.146.168 (talk) at 23:50 on 22 February 2015 (GMT)
In addition I opened the door to the sewer manhole before I aggro'd him (Not sure if this is important)
and I decided I was done messing around I ran past him to that room and shut the door, upon shutting the door he de-aggro'd now this might just be the interaction but it could have been because it was open prior. That's my discovery, don't know if it's been brought up yet but, enjoy! :) — Unsigned comment by TriforceGuardian (talkcontribs) at 00:04 on 23 February 2015 (GMT)

Isnt this article misnamed? I remember it being "Tutorial" in gameEdit

I mean, it redirects here, but I think Tutorial is the correct name of the quest. If there was some consensus at some point I missed it, just thought Id clarify.--Catmaniac66 02:56, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Huh, in-game it is definitely called Tutorial. A quick search for Escape from Prison showed not a single reference in the entire game...I'm not sure why we refer to it as such, except that "Tutorial" seems a bit bland. Kind of counter intuitive with the idea of exact game information though. --DKong27 Talk Cont 03:03, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
Honestly, I didnt care too much, since tutorial redirects here. Im just glad Im not crazy!--Catmaniac66 03:11, 18 April 2011 (UTC) EDIT: Im gonna move it if no one else has a disagreement.
No disagreement from me. We should always use the in-game name. rpeh •TCE 09:53, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
Too many links to fix manually, can someone put a bot on it?--Catmaniac66 01:04, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

() You can use the "What Links Here" to see what is still linked to the old version too. I might look around a bit myself. --DKong27 Talk Cont 01:44, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I was using that, I just dont have enough time as it appears to be over 50 different cases.--Catmaniac66 01:47, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
What Links Here. I took care of most of them, but some pages still show up where I couldn't find any links...Also, it just came to me. Oblivion:Imperial Prison Sewer (Tutorial). Can't believe I forgot...Going to have to change it and its links as well. --DKong27 Talk Cont 13:23, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
I was wondering about that earlier... is it really necessary? I mean, if you feel like doing it - go right ahead, but it's not that big of a deal really. rpeh •TCE 13:34, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
If DK is up to it, I think it's better to eventually remove that redirect entirely. It's an unofficial name, something which I think should only be used when no official one is provided (see OBMobile:Escape From Prison). Legoless 13:53, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
I think I got all of them. What Links Here. Again, some still show up, but it seems that there are no more links... --DKong27 Talk Cont 14:43, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Moved bugEdit

  • The assassins won't attack you until the Blades see them. This means it is possible to interact with them. Walking towards the Blades will trigger the attack.

In my experience, this is very untrue, can anyone verify?

And to save space, does anyone think its notable that the goblins in the big room and on are considerably weaker than the first few? They cant even block, your attacks go right through their blocks. Maybe not notable, just throwing it out there. I may add it to the Hardest difficulty page though.--Catmaniac66 01:42, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

-I know if you mod your stats (like personality) to a very high level then the normally hostile enemies (like bandits and assassins) will like you and not attack, so that is probably how this happened. Bamspeedy 01:25, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

-This works with the first set you run across, no mods necessary, but it will not work with any others because you won't be able to reach them before they aggro, but you can play the minigame with each one as long as you want and leave the sewers with maxed speechcraft.
Instead of following the Emperor and company out of your cell, run ahead of them and you can jump up on the ledge to the left where there first four assassins appear. The four assassins come through the door one at a time. (All of the other assassins are either propositioned and aggro as soon as you do anything to them, or they appear on ledges you can't get to). As each one comes through the door you can interact with them. You have to be quick as they will immediately turn and jump off of the ledge, but you can talk to all four in case you accidentally max disposition with one of them. Kind of funny playing the minigame when all you see are their closed face helmets. - 76.174.116.82 10:19, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

The Crazy Doors?Edit

You know the doors that 'need a key?' What happens when you walk up to the door (On a PC) open the console, and type 'unlock'? Does nothing happen or something? Where do the doors lead...if anywhere? And is there a certain key to open the doors that a player on the PC could force into their inventory? I'm just curious. 24.181.57.63 01:31, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

They lead to small rooms containing Mythic Dawn. This is for creating the ambushes. Pickle 01:54, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

I've opened them all and mapped the ones that lead to such rooms. By the way, I've mentioned this before about that line that states that the doors don't go anywhere and can't be opened, being wrong. But somebody insists on keeping that misinformation in the article. By "mapped", I mean that I also took screenshots to prove that they exist. Ditto for the "Unused Cell" door in the underground city DLC. Ditto for the bodyparts and skins ond display under the starting prison cell and at the exit gate. By the way, not all of the doors lead to such setup rooms, so it is like a memory game to remmeber which ones do so. Oh and there is no special key. An "Open Any Lock Spell" will work as will the console command to unlock those doors. If you find such a room and then look at your map, the map will show that the room is not attached to the rest of the dungeon, but is set off away from it! So to see it, you may have to move the map around, depending on your resolution or monitor screen size. I thinks that's all. Oh! If you run ahead of the party and ambush those ambushers to make the way clear for said party, you may break the quest, as some of them are just waiting to be killed so as to trigger certain quest dialogue lines and the next steps that go with them. Some are free to kill though, so that means you found the ones that you were meant to kill on your own anyway. If you care to experiment, I've found that some of them respawn and show up over and over, to be killed over and over, as long as certain stages of the quest haven't been achieved yet. Depending on one's mood, this can be great fun with training, if you want to kill those guys over and over, sort of like playing "Whack A Mole" in you're in the mood to treat it like an arcade game. Otherwide, take care who you whack if you want to continue the quest as usual from there on. Okay, I think that's it, unless there are anymore questions. Leo Star Dragon 1 07:43, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

" I've mentioned this before about that line that states that the doors don't go anywhere and can't be opened, being wrong. But somebody insists on keeping that misinformation in the article."

technically its wrong as you demonstrated, but functionally and from any perspective in game its absolutely true. those doors can't be opened and go nowhere

glitchEdit

After i chose my birthsign i ran ahead and jumped down the ledge and found 3 assasins just standing around with their armor and weapons out they werent hostile and i could talk to them about rumours and use the persuasion minigame i spoke to one that had a bound dagger and raised his disposition then pickpocketed him and i could take his bound mace when bauras and glenroy came the assains just stood there whilst they killed them this is twice ive recieved this glitch. (Eddie the head 10:23, 20 June 2011 (UTC))

im also pretty sure the bound mace has been levelling with me, when i first got it its damage was 3 and as ive been going up in levels its damage has been increasing its damage is 8 now when full repared (Eddie the head 10:07, 22 June 2011 (UTC))
The assassins are only hostile when the Blades get close enough. As for the Mace, it depends on your Blunt skills, so when you get better you do more damage. --DKong27 Talk Cont 00:20, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Class?Edit

What determines Baurus' "guess"? Unlike Socucius Ergalla's test in Morrowind, there are no clear factors determining what will be the suggested class. I guess it's determined by the skill levelups you get until you meet him?--201.14.251.195 01:14, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

yeh its done by what skills you use and probaly your race. (Eddie the head 03:04, 10 July 2011 (UTC))

Don't know if this is mentinonedEdit

But in the room you're in before the Emperor gives you the Amulet of Kings, the one with the locked gate... you know "The gate is barred from the other side, a trap!" well in that room an unlimited amount of assassins will spawn and re-spawn until you actually talk to the emperor , so if you set the difficulty at a manageable level you can level up almost any combat skill however many times you want (I think). I saw that diagram that the other person posted about the 50 or so assassins bodies disappearing but I just thought I should mention it because it can be a giant advantage if you want to have ALOT of skill increases before even choosing a class. — Unsigned comment by Lucife Decon (talkcontribs) at 18:22 on August 16, 2011

thats the thing, before you pick your class im almost entirely sure your skills get reset when you picl your class (From Fear to Eternity- Eddie The Head 00:11, 17 August 2011 (UTC))
Confirmed ^. My Breton's acrobatics was 16 before speaking to Baurus, and 10 after I picked my class. Kitkat1749 TalkContribE-mail 01:24, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure it was on the wiki somewhere... But anyway, your skills are not reset, they are re-evaluated. Before you choose, all skills are equal, but after class, they will gain or lose EXP based on your new Major and Minor skills and your Specialization, all of which affect how quickly your skills progress. So you have the exact same amount of experience behind the scenes, it's just that the amount needed to reach a certain level has changed. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 01:37, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Incorrect (to the first responder) , I've witnessed my friend get his sneak, blade, and acrobatics to 75 then talk to Barus and chose his class. Maybe you guys are playing the PS3 or PC version, but I know for a fact (at least before the update that fixes both duplication glitches) that you can do it with at least most skills. I have witnessed it, and I even told him they would be reset but right when he chose his class he got all 3 expert notifications informing him that he was an expert in said skills and when he left the sewers nothing changed. I'm not trying to be mean or act like I know everything there is to know about this game, but believe me I saw it, and all skills mentioned were 75+ - Lucife Decon — Unsigned comment by Lucife Decon (talkcontribs) at 21:23 on August 16, 2011
Like I said...everything I said. If you get skills to Expert, and then they are Specialized or Major Skills, they will likely stay or increase in level. Once I trained Sneak to 98, chose a class with no Stealth or Sneak, and lost 5 levels. Also, you can sign by using ~~~~. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 02:27, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

GLITCH!Edit

I stood between the emperor and his assassin, and the assassin couldn´t pass to kill the emperor, so he kept running in the same spot until some minutes later he disappeared, letting the emperor alive! but the emperor got like paralyzed and if i tried to talk to him, he died and falled down. Sorry for my bad english, im spanish.

Console ControllsEdit

Is the journal entries (specifically #96) wrong in the button for showing the map? It's the A-button, not the X-button, that show the quest target. I guess this is confused with the PS3-controller since the Xbox's A and the PS' X-buttons are in the same position, but didn't the PS3 version release after PC and Xbox? MrL 21:29, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure we're just not listing the PS3 version of the journal entries as the CS only contain the PC and XBOX360 versions of the journal (Probably due to the later release). I could be wrong I guess as I don't have access to the PS3 version to confirm whether this is true or not, but I like to think that Bethesda wouldn't overlook a mistake this major. If anyone has the PS3 version, please correct this. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 23:51, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Only one Blade with Uriel SeptimEdit

Right at the start, after Dreth's little speech, the Emperor appears with only one Blade as company - Captain Renault. When I step back as ordered I'm locked into 'cutscene mode' - can't move, only look around - but Renault just stands by the gate idling, and doesn't open it. I've tried unloading all my extra mods, I have both the official and unoffical patches, I've tried two seperate new games, but all to no avail. This is the first time in several playthroughs this has happened, and I'm at a total loss. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, is there a way to fix it?

Sneak TrainingEdit

Just wanted to mention that you can train your sneak very effectively during Valen Dreth's commentary.Should this be added in the notes section on this page?--Skyrimplayer 15:40, 26 July 2012 (UTC)

Valen Dreth won't start speaking until you approach the bars. You can actually train up all of your skills that don't need a valid target: Acrobatics, Athletics, Sneak, Restoration, before you ever approach the bars. As soon as you get control, immediately jump into the little bed area where the secret entrance is and start training. 76.174.116.82 10:34, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

I just want to record how get (by normal way) get the different journal entries (some help would be appreciated) (The number show the quest stage corresponding)

10: at the beginning
15: After fighting the rats if you don't have a weapon.
20: After fighting the rats
22: After opening the menu
26: ?
28: After the rats appear

26 was removed. At the point where the quest stage transitions from 22 to 26, the script was commented out, noting "REMOVED." Stage 26 itself has had all scripts commented out and has a comment saying: "NOTE: REMOVED CURRENTLY." --Mancer0 (talk) 07:35, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
