Lord Dregas Volar is a Dremora who wielded one of the Daedric Crescents. He resided in the Daedric ruin of Magas Volar, a sanctuary hidden somewhere on Vvardenfell. He is known as the Lord of Magas Volar.[1] Dregas Volar is also referred to as the Bearer of the Crescent, and the Crescent Dremora,[1] due to his choice in weaponry, which is closely associated with Mehrunes Dagon's forces.[2] He is also known to possess a pair of Crescent Daggers and a Staff.[3]

HistoryEdit

Circa 2E 582, during the Planemeld, Dregas Volar served as a general in Molag Bal's service.[4][nb 1] He was tasked with protecting Dark Anchors, and was slain by the Fighters Guild while doing so.[1] After his defeat, his Crescent Daggers and a Staff were recovered from the Dark Anchor he defended.[3]

After Dagon's plans to take the Battlespire were thwarted during the Imperial Simulacrum, the Empire reclaimed the ruined academy, and the Daedric Crescents were gathered up and destroyed. The Last Dwarf and notable scholar Yagrum Bagarn notes that unknown to the Empire, one of the unique blades remained in existence somewhere in Tamriel, although none had ever seen it.[2] Ironically, the blade was very near Yagrum, as he lived in Tel Fyr with his oldest friend, Divayth Fyr, who had a hobby of collecting many powerful artifacts.[5] Volar's Daedric Crescent Blade saw action in the Battlespire.[6]:240

Circa 3E 427, the Nerevarine was challenged by Fyr to loot his tower, and discovered an intricate Daedric necklace which teleported the hero to Magas Volar. The Nerevarine was then attacked by Lord Volar, whom they defeated. The hero then claimed the last known Daedric Crescent.[7]

NotesEdit

  • ^  Although their imagery is associated with Mehrunes Dagon,[2][8] Dregas Volar used Daedric Cresent weaponry when he served as a general in Molag Bal's service.[1][3]
    • There is notably a precedence for Dagon's reputable troops being hired out to other Daedric Princes to accomplish infeasible missions.[9]
