"Chrysamere, the Paladin,s [sic] Blade and Sword of Heroes, is an ancient claymore with offensive capabilities only surpassed by its defenses. It lends the wielder health, protects him or her from fire, and reflects any deletory spells cast against the wielder back to the caster. Seldom has Chrysamere been wielded by a bladesman for any length of time, for it chooses not to favor one champion."
Chrysamere is awarded for completing the knightly order quests The Army of Undead or The Lost Artifact*. It is also intended to be a possible reward for giving Gortwog the Totem of Tiber Septim during the quest Totem, Totem, Who Gets the Totem?.*
*One of four possible rewards. However, due to a bug it will always be the reward offered for The Lost Artifact without a third-party fix.
*In the latest official patch (v1.07.213), the specific command to give you Chrysamere is missing from the questfile and in the end you get nothing from Gortwog. Thus, it requires a third-party fix.
NotesEdit
- Chrysamere is also the basis of the Merchants and Innkeeper quest The Impostor, though one does not obtain the artifact from it.
- Chrysamere previously appeared in Arena, and it has also appeared in future titles within The Elder Scrolls series. It was later revealed to be Breton in origin in ESO. For more information, see the lore article.
