WelcomeEdit

Hello Htwise! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! –Eshetalk 23:39, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

AdviceEdit

Hello and welcome to UESPWiki! Thanks for your interest in the wiki; however, you seem to have been making multiple edits to a page by not using the show preview button, clogging up the Recent Changes in the process. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that each edit needs to be patrolled, so multiple consecutive edits create an unnecessary hassle on those who patrol. So please utilize this feature! You may also want to look over our style guide and Getting Started guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 03:53, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Editing TipsEdit

Hey, I noticed the edits you made here. I just wanted to point out that when you see marks like <!-- this --> on a page, it's the first part ( <!-- ) that hides the text and the second part ( --> ) that stops hiding the text. If you fill in a section (such as Related Quests), then you can just delete all the text in between those marks, as those instructions become unnecessary (in this case, you would delete "<!-- Instructions: If this NPC is related to any quests, uncomment this section and replace "Quest Name" with the quest's name--><!--" and then you would also delete the "-->" after the Related Quests section). --Velyanthe 20:30, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim Easter EggsEdit

Please don't add things to the main page unless they've been approved on the talk page beforehand. The entry you made was discussed several times, and each time consensus was against adding it. Please refrain from placing rejected ideas on the page in the future. ThuumofReason 18:49, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

I have a couple problems with that:
  1. That was not on the, "main page", as you can see by looking at the little bread crumb (top left side of the screen), and also by the fact that you have to go to the main page and click on a link to get there.
  2. The entry I made was never "discussed several times" as you claim it has. (even upon further inspection of the discussion page, as I had already looked at it, I found no evidence to support your statement.)
  3. Any Easter Egg mentioned on the talk page that was even remotely related to mine did not have consensus against it, in fact the only person I saw opposing it was you. See Here: (oh and consensus means an opinion or decision reached by a group as a whole)
  4. "Please refrain from placing rejected ideas on the page in the future." My Easter Egg has only been rejected by you and I only learned of this after the fact. I also do not believe you have any authority in that matter. Htwise 01:06, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Htwise, I am uncertain of your intent with the "welcome" message you posted, but he did give you a reason for his removal, so posting that message is completely unnecessary. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he was the only one who disagreed with the egg, but then again, nobody else agreed with you, yes? In that case, consensus has not been reached and it should be discussed further before adding it; Thuum would be justified in removing it on the basis that no consensus was reached. --Velyanthe 01:19, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Well the multitudes of people who have drawn a connection between the scene from Star Wars and Skyrim seems to suggest a general consensus that there is a connection, while ThuumofReason is the only one opposed to it.(Even if the details very)Htwise 03:46, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
For the easter eggs page it must be discussed before being added to the main article. (sorry I edited your post but it was hard to read.) — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 01:34, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Calcelmo can be overheard saying "next season, next season for sure" to his assistant Aicantar. Could be a reference to Star Wars episode 4, when Luke's uncle is telling him to stay on the farm for another year. It's not a quote from the movie however. Not really enough to suggest a connection. ThuumofReason 20:01, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

This barely constitutes discussed several times, and does not cover what the suggested reference was, only what it refered to. Saying that I don't think its a reference, because its a widely used phrase where the young one usually ends up in a predicament. The Silencer 02:32, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Erik or Erik the Slayer can be found in Frostfruit Inn. When the player first walks in he will be complaining to his father Mralki about wanting to go out in the world and make his own way; to which his father asks him to stay for another season. Similar to a conversation Luke Skywalker had with his Uncle in A New Hope.

My point was twofold. One to say Thuum was wrong to say it had been rejected several times, but second that the idea of a young person asking to go and being asked to wait a while is not specific to star wars and there are now two examples here where the similarities are vague. I am against adding it to the page and please put your replys at the bottom so they can be found easily even if they are dirctly to one person. The page says that all possibility's should be discussed on the talk page before going on the main page. Don't let this one episode stop you from contributing to the site as I for one am open to all having their say. The Silencer 04:00, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I was mistaken. I must have confused this with one of the other propositions. It gets kind of hard to keep track, when people still suggest things that actually HAVE been rejected like sweetrolls, I'm sure you understand. My personal mix-ups aside, I'm glad you agree that it's a common phrase. ThuumofReason 16:04, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
