WelcomeEdit
Hello! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:
- Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
- If you prefer to discuss Elder Scrolls related topics with other users, without the expectations of a wiki to worry about, see our Forums.
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox and don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors if you need any help. Have fun! --DKong27 Talk Cont 13:06, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
Show PreviewEdit
Hi Apollo Quinn. I just want to remind you of using the show preview button before saving (as mentioned above). That will prevent you from cluttering the recent changes page. Thanks! --Archain 18:08, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

- I know to do that thanks, I just thought it somewhat superfluous in a one-on-one conversation my talk page. And I'm ticking along fine with a bit of help from rpeh :) Apollo Quinn 18:17, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Confirmation on PlacesEdit
Just a quick request - this is probably a bit confusing given that you've just been told how to remove cleanup tags. Please don't remove {{cleanup-oprp}} tags as you did here. These are different from normal {{cleanup}} tags because they're part of a project to make sure all the place pages are accurate. See the project page for a bit more information. rpeh •T•C•E• 19:11, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry - I removed the tag as it seemed to be there on the grounds that it wasn't properly confirmed. I did a quick hop onto the game, and checked the location. Once I verified it, I removed the tag; I don't understand what is wrong with this process. Since I added myself to the project's contributor's, can I remove it now? Apollo Quinn 19:52, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Add your name to the template's "writtenby" parameter. So where the page currently says
|writtenby=
change it to|writtenby=Apollo Quinn
. There's a writing and a checking process. There's no hurry here. rpeh •T•C•E• 19:56, 29 March 2011 (UTC)- Sorry, let me just get that straight - I add my name to that section of the template, and then I can remove it? Sorry, I must be a real pain in the neck right now :( Apollo Quinn 20:08, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Try and add your name to the section and hit Show Preview. The tag will then be gone (hidden) and will be ready for further checking. --Krusty 20:10, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, so it needs to be independently verified? I guess that makes sense :) Apollo Quinn 20:26, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yup. We want to make sure everything is correct, and having another editor take a look at what has been written is the easiest way of doing it. Please make sure you don't just add your name. I'm not saying you will, but the whole reason for this two-step approach is to get two users who have really checked things out agreeing on what's right. Welcome to the project! rpeh •T•C•E• 20:30, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Don't feel too bad for not knowing - I was just as confused as you until reading this discussion! Better go make some pending edits... Legoless 20:49, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hooray, another term I don't understand. Is that just where I put my name next to the "written by" thing? :S Tell you what, is there any kind of tutorial page for eejits like me, saying what to do and what happens? Preferably in small words. :L Apollo Quinn 20:56, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
