Detailed WalkthroughEdit
This quest follows immediately on from the events of Finding Jebyn the Sailor. Ivon Seloth will be grateful that you believe in his innocence, and will ask your help finding those responsible, citing a greater conspiracy at play. His first suggestion is to investigate Rathes Falveno, who often loiters around the apartments and is known to have done work for the Marvus family.
Speak to Rathes - he's the warty Dunmer wandering the apartment corridors, and will break easily under questioning. He won't wish to talk in the apartments themselves. Instead, meet him in the basement of Aimrah's warehouse. It's the building with the crane on top. Rathes is waiting for you. Question him while you can - at the end of the conversation, he will flood the basement and attempt to kill you. Return the favor. The key to exit the basement is on his body, so take it (and the Peculiar Wax Amulet he carries), and return to Ivon Seloth at the shrine.
A journal update will trigger when approaching the shrine. Ivon is not there. The journal entry will prompt you to speak with Zadathys Aldrethi at the Sailors Inn in Aimrah, which you should do. Zadathys will express some alarm at the latest events and tell you to speak to the hetman for the key to the lighthouse, where 'a shady congregation' of people has been seen.
The hetman, Dava Arenim, is in the Communal Tradehouse. Explain everything to her (that Ivon has disappeared and you think he's in the lighthouse) and she will give you the key. Go to the lighthouse and speak to the guards outside, who have been sent to accompany you. You can enter the lighthouse now, and should ascend until you run into the lighthouse keeper, Ulvo Telvor. Speak to him peacefully, and show him the Peculiar Wax Amulet you took off Rathes's body. He will provide further context to the cult that operates below, and reveals the existence of a secret door that can be opened by interacting with the Dreugh shield on the ground floor, by the desk.
(You can also kill Ulvo, and interact with the shield anyway)
A passage to the lighthouse grotto ("Aimrah, Lighthouse: Grotto") will open behind you as you move the shield. Go through it and enter the caverns. You should have the guards sent by the hetman in tow. Descend through the cavern, killing the cultists (including members of the rotting ship, Paruddma, and Barandas Marvus). The priest, Ivon Seloth, is caged in the final chamber, and you will need to defeat the cultists' leader, Obedur Marvus. He's wearing a valuable Dreugh Cuirass, which you may wish to take.
Free Ivon Seloth, comfort him and help him leave this place. Once out the lighthouse, he will request time to think. You can speak to Zadathys in the Sailors Inn, and Dava Arenim in the Communal Tradehouse in the meantime, and they will offer their thoughts on the events. Dava will express horror that she had overlooked a cult for so long, and give you 100 gold in thanks. Zadathys will have much more to say. Press him on the topic of the barmaid Anara at the end of the conversation, and he will reveal that she is also a member of the Marvus Family (and thus the heir to the Paruddma). You can optionally tell her this, and encourage her to use the ship to get away from Aimrah, and its memories.
Return finally to Ivon Seloth in his apartment. He will reward you with the Potion of Seven Wonders, while also exhibiting certain strange tendencies. You can advise him to seek healing, in which case he will eventually appear at the infirmary of Serynthul, where his 'condition' will progress to the point that he is unable to speak. Either way, at the moment you finish conversation about 'Jebyn' with him, your quest is complete.
