Obedur Marvus is a Dunmer male and captain of the Paruddma, a ship which operates on Lake Andaram and docks in Aimrah in between pearl-diving expeditions. Despite his reputed success, which has made the Marvus family one of the wealthiest in town, he does not seem to care much for the appearance of his ship, which is encrusted with barnacles and shells. He is one of the people you have to question as part of the events of Finding Jebyn the Sailor, as the missing Jebyn was once part of his crew. He does not seem particularly enthused with that crewmate.
"He's just a sailor. Lazy and dishonest like young people often are. Before I took him into my crew, he was a street urchin in Dres Horak, across the lake. Why are you so interested in him?"
Obedur has a brother, Barandas Marvus, and a few other family relations unveiled during the course of Shadows under Aimrah.
"I have a brother who lives here. My mother and my father and the rest of my family have passed on. You ask too many questions, outlander."
It is revealed during the events of that quest that Obedur leads a cult dedicated to Paruddma, a mysterious figure associated with the Dreugh. With a penchant for human sacrifice, and distinctly fishy appearances, putting an end to the cult (and to Obedur and his brother) becomes the priority of the town.
