Legate Adventus Caesennius is an Imperial soldier who can be found in Castle Dour in Solitude. He is a member of the Imperial Legion. If the Stormcloaks successfully take Solitude and thereby win the war, Caesennius will be removed from the game, and Istar Cairn-Breaker will take his place in the castle.
He wears Imperial armor with matching boots and bracers. He wields an Imperial sword, a steel dagger and uses an Imperial bow for ranged attacks. He carries twelve steel arrows for the bow and his sleeping outfit, a belted tunic.

Battle of the ChampionsEdit
With the Civil War Champions Creation installed, Adventus will be involved in the quest Battle of the Champions. If you have not yet joined the Imperial Legion, you will have the option to speak to him about becoming the Legion's Champion:
- I hear you're looking for a champion. I'm loyal to the Empire.
He will only agree to this if you pass a Persuasion check. If you fail it, he will refuse with, "This is none of your concern, citizen." Once he agrees to let you act as Champion, he will say, "Well, soldier? Are you up to the task?"
If instead you have already joined the Legion before installing this Creation, you will have received his letter and can then speak to him to accept his invitation to become Champion:
- I got your message about needing a champion.
- "This won't be easy, but that's why I'm sending you. Think you can handle it?"
You can reply in a multitude of ways:
- I can handle it, and then some. / I'll do my best.
- "I knew I could count on you, soldier. Here this is for you."
- Those Stormcloak rebels are as good as dead.
- "As long as the rebels are willing to die fighting the Empire, we must be willing to oblige them. Here this is for you."
- Must we fight? Will Skyrim ever see peace?
- "Peace may yet return to Skyrim. But until then, we fight. Here this is for you."
- I'm a bit busy at the moment.
- "Don't take too long figuring it out. I've got a war to run here."
If his request is accepted he will hand you the Imperial Armory Key and state:
- "Show the rebels the futility of their cause."
DialogueEdit
When you have not joined either the Imperial Legion or the Stormcloaks he can say:
- How do you feel about this war?
- "You mean Ulfric's so-called "Stormcloak rebellion"? The Nord kings - oh, excuse me, "Jarls" - they can't seem to control their own people. So the Legion has stepped in to keep order. Sadly, the Empire's stretched a little thin these days, and we've gotten very few reinforcements. So we've been forced to recruit locally. But rest assured, citizen. We'll put an end to this uprising... and things will get back to normal soon enough."
- Tell me about your group.
- "Not sure I understand the question. The Legion's always been in Skyrim. We have garrisons throughout all the provinces of the Empire. Our mission is to serve the Emperor, uphold the law, and protect the citizenry. Skyrim's days are darkening, and the Legion will soon be called into service like never before. But we stand ready, as always, to meet that call."
- How do I join?
- "Think you've got the mettle, eh? Honestly, the Legion can use all the able bodies it can muster. We have our hands full. A dead king, a rebellion, and now dragons? Skyrim's a mess. If you're serious, you're in the right place. Our headquarters is Castle Dour. Here you'll find General Tullius, commanding our forces in Skyrim. But talk to Legate Rikke. She handles the local recruiting."
