Tel VarEdit

Entered Monstrous Tooth Trophy Vault and the chest inside contained only gear, no Tel Var. — Unsigned comment by Grail Quest (talkcontribs) at 06:51 on 22 September 2019‎ (UTC)

Tel Var Multplier and Vault DropsEdit

I noticed in a recent discussion about Imperial City Trophy Vaults that people were claiming that carrying 10,000 Tel Var stones when you opened the chest gives you better loot, including a 100% chance for a Xivkyn style page. My first thought was that IC gankers were trying to set up victims to lose more Tel Var but saw the same claim in other places, so I decided to test it out. Normally when I venture into IC I do so with zero Tel Var, and when I open a trophy chest I usually get 2 set pieces, but when I opened it with 10,000 Tel Var I received 2 set pieces, an IC boss mask, a Nibenese Court Wizard style page, and a Xivkyn motif page, which leads me to believe that having the max Tel Var multiplier does indeed boost your rewards.

My question is, does anyone know if this has been officially documented anywhere, like in the game's Patch Notes? A quick perusal didn't turn up anything for me and I'd like some verification before adding this to the article. --Xyzzy Talk 13:42, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

All I know is that this is indeed true, and is why gankers hang around the vault entrances so much. It was highlighted in patch notes when the Nibenese Court Wizard Style was added. —Legoless (talk) 14:29, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
The Key Fragment text tells us: "The chance of finding a Chapter increases with your Tel Var Stone Multiplier.", and given that 10,000 Tel Var grants you the maximum multplier score of x4, its logical to assume 10,000 give you the best chance to get the most loot. I did my own testing of this a while back and briefly noted this on Online:Nibenese Court Wizard Style page, but it should be here too. --Jimeee (talk) 14:32, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
Thanks Legoless and Jimmee. I finally found the note in the Blackwood chapter patch notes about increased chance with a higher multiplier, but nothing about it being 100%. I'll update this article accordingly. --Xyzzy Talk 03:30, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
