PolymorphsEdit
We should consider making another page for Polymorphs. Not the collectible ones like on Costumes, but the ones that are specific to certain quests, e.g. Razum-dar's earring in Skywatch that turns you into a balding Breton guy with a beard. (At least I think it's always a guy, but both my chars who have done AD were male, not sure if there's a different version for female chars.) Another thing that would fall into that category are any quests where you travel into the past or have a vision where you're playing as some other person (who happens to use the exact same weapons and combat tactics as you do...) There's also that battle at the end of Blackheart Haven (or was it Tempest Island?) where the boss can turn you into a smoke-vomiting skeleton, etc. At any rate, that's just what I can remember off the top of my head, we should try and delineate all of them somewhere. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 20:03, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- I don't think that's really necessary. None of those transformations have any relevance outside of their related quests, so such a page would serve no practical purpose. --Enodoc (talk) 22:21, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

- The same could be said for pretty much everything on this page. None of the disguises as far as I know are useful beyond the one quest they're intended to be used for. Even things which could conceivably be useful in other places aren't. (E.g. the Red Rook Bandit disguise in Glenumbra only works in that one area, even though there are Red Rook Bandits in other places - they aren't fooled by the disguise.)
- Admittedly, "Polymorphs" might not be the best way to describe these identity-changes, since that's an official word used to describe the previously mentioned collectibles. It would be interesting to see how many places there are which transform your appearance in this way. There's even a couple of non-humanoid transformations that occur - you turn into a ghost-wolf in one quest in Bangkorai, a monkey in Coldharbour, a wisp in Stonefalls, etc. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 12:51, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

- The difference with these disguises is that they can be used indefinitely for appearance changes, and quite often also retain their disguise function in the intended location. Those transformations can only be used, and most often must be used, exactly when the quest says so, and at no other time. --Enodoc (talk) 16:58, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

KollopiEdit
Does it work in any way outside its quest? I see it more than any other disguise, and there's now the note in the info screen that states it will not work in PVP zones, so I was curious to know if it has more to it than simple cosmetics. It is pretty neat. --24.113.14.139 14:53, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
- Disguises work only in certain areas related to their quest, so, even though it doesn't make you invisible to any enemies elsewhere, this one makes you transparent which makes you harder to see for players, so it is specifically stopped from working in PVP areas. - Right, outside of the quest area it has no function, but all disguises can be used solely for cosmetics (like Costumes) once the quest is finished, and many players continue to use disguises for that. Note that, if you are wearing a disguise as a costume and re-enter its associated quest area, you may lose it if you enter combat and be unable to reacquire it. As Silencer said, it's due to the fact that it makes players partially transparent that it is unavailable in PvP areas. --Enodoc (talk) 17:29, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
"Vulkhel Guard Marine Disguise"Edit
This is actually called "First Auridon Marine Disguise". I've never known it to use the name you've given it. 71.200.142.43 23:18, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
