The grandmaster of House Dres has given me a key that should see me past the wards at Tormented Spire. Now all that remains is to make my way there.
Quick WalkthroughEdit
- Travel to the Tormented Spire.
Detailed WalkthroughEdit
After saving Sen Dres from the Vanguard, you can speak with him to accept this quest.
- "You have the gratitude of Sen Dres, my new friend. I'd raise a goblet of wine with you if there was time, but there isn't."
- Right, I have to make for the Tormented Spire.
- "Father's given you the key then. Excellent! I'll make a mark on your map. You should find a cave there that leads to the path up the slope."
- How do I use the key?
- "There should be two wardstones at the entrance, each attuned to a constellation. The Atronach and the Tower, if I recall. The key should allow you to disrupt those stones, and any others you encounter on your journey.
Three guide your steps!" - Thank you, Sen.
Sen Dres's father gave you the key to the spire. Now you need to use it to stop Tanval. Travel east to the Tormented Spire and talk to Holgunn for a small bit of gold.

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
