Crystallized Shield
Crystallized Shield: Spin a shield of ice around you, absorbing up to [16000 / 16176 / 16351 / 16528] damage from 3 projectiles. Each time you absorb a projectile you gain 2 Ultimate.
Crystallized Slab: Spin a shield of ice around you, absorbing up to 24791 damage from 3 projectiles. Each time you absorb a projectile you launch an icy bolt back at the enemy, dealing [3176 / 3211 / 3246 / 3280] Frost Damage and stunning them for 3 seconds.
Shimmering Shield: Cost: [4320 / 4230 / 4140 / 4050] Magicka.
Spin a shield of ice around you, absorbing up to 16527 damage from 3 projectiles. Each time you absorb a projectile you gain 2 Ultimate and gain Major Heroism for 6 seconds, granting you 3 Ultimate every 1.5 seconds.

Crystallized Shield creates a shield that will block the next three projectile attacks, granting you Ultimate for each blocked projectile. The Crystallized Slab morph will reflect projectiles back, dealing Frost Damage at the attackers and stunning them but will no longer grant Ultimate, while Shimmering Shield will also grant you Major Heroism when blocking a projectile.

  • Shimmering Shield: Fixed an issue where the Major Heroism buff from this morph was being removed by other abilities that grant Minor Heroism.
  • Updated this ability and its morphs' tooltips to indicate the maximum damage they can absorb from a single projectile.
  • Increased the cost of this ability and its morphs to 3240 Magicka from 2701.
  • Fixed an issue where the visual effects from this ability and its morphs were still appearing to enemies even if you were stealthed or invisible.
  • Removed the cost reduction rank up from this ability and its morphs. They will now all cost 3780 at base.
  • The size of the shield from this ability will increase as the ability ranks up.
  • Adjusted the Magicka return to be 22% of the ability's cost instead of the previous base value.
  • Crystallized Slab (morph): Increased the damage return of this morph by approximately 55% to put it on par with other similar abilities such as Dragon Fire Scale or Inferno.
  • Crystallized Slab (morph):
    • This morph now has a 500ms internal cooldown on the damage return and Magicka refund, similar to other abilities such as Dragon Fire Scale or Living Dark.
  • Shimmering Shield (morph): Fixed an issue where Major Heroism would not refresh from this ability after activating once.
  • Crystallized Slab (morph): This morph now also stuns the target upon dealing damage.
    • For the masters of Ice, Wardens are lacking a lot of hard control. Without giving them something too over the top to make them even more oppressive to melee attackers, we've opted to add in a reactive ranged stun option to help deter those ranged builds that naturally kite and hound Wardens.
  • Fixed numerous visual errors with this ability and its morphs.
  • Fixed an issue where the shield could fail to grant its full value when recasting it while it was already active.
    • Crystallized Slab (morph):
      • Fixed an issue where the 3rd projectile would fail to visually appear in many cases.
      • This morph no longer has a 500ms cooldown, as it was allowing the ability to sometimes absorb more than 3 projectiles.
    • Developer Comment: Since the projectile limit exists and this morph's damage return is not bound by a duration but rather charges, the cooldown does not need to exist. This does, however, mean that builds that weave multiple projectiles in tandem will feel extreme pain when attacking users with this morph.
  • This ability and the Shimmering Shield morph now grant 2 Ultimate when the shield takes damage, rather than restoring Magicka equal to 22% of the ability's cost.
  • Increased the cost of this ability and its morphs to 4320, up from 3780.
  • Reduced the shield strength of this ability and the Shimmering Shield morph by approximately 33%.
    • Crystallized Slab (morph):
      • This morph no longer grants Magicka or the new Ultimate restore when the shield takes damage, in exchange for the damage done and stun. This morph does retain the original size of the damage shield.
      • Reduced the damage per hit of this morph by approximately 33%.
    • Developer Comment: Currently, this ability and its morphs are enabling too much defensive power for the Warden against ranged opponents, while simultaneously allowing them to keep the ability up with next to no cost. In order to peel back some of the power in those regards, we're increasing the cost and removing the self-sustaining portion, while also trying to give some love back with Ultimate generation. While doing this, we're also trying to differentiate the morph power you pick from, where Slab is more about shaking off ranged builds and being more defensive, while Shimmering doubles down on the juicy Ultimate generation.
