Detailed WalkthroughEdit

To begin this quest, you must find Sumiril outside the Labyrinth. Speak with him, and he describes how he is one of the Hollow, and he asks if you can read Sumiril's Book for him. The book, he says, tells the story of the Wilderking and Sumiril's creation. Sumiril would read the book himself, but he is afraid to as he fears he will discover some hidden insight into himself. He asks you to read the book and tell him if his fears are justified. He explains how you must traverse the labyrinth as you read the book in order to be able to read more passages.

Begin by reading the first passage. Letters will then float in the air and begin moving through the labyrinth. You must follow these letters to the small altar-like structure that they lead to. Once you are there, stand in it and you will be teleported to another section of the labyrinth, in which you must read the next passage. You then have to follow the words again, and you will come across another structure; stand there and you will be teleported again. Continue this process and you will end up reading all 6 passages of the book, which reveal that Sumiril was a friend of the Wilderking that was revived from the dead. Once you read the last passage, you must speak to Sumiril. You can choose whether to tell him that the Wilderking was once mortal, or tell him that the Wilderking is both mortal and immortal.

If you tell him the Wilderking was mortal, he will ask about what happened and how he became immortal; relay the story to him and he will be shocked, and left with even more questions, saying he will have to find a new way to exist. He will then reward you with a staff and some leveled gold.

If you choose to tell him that the Wilderking is both mortal and immortal (which is true--the Wilderking is a man and Valenwood at once. Each Wilderking dies but there is always a Wilderking), Sumaril will ask what of himself? You will tell him he is the original and best loved Hollow--all the others are copies. He will give you a staff and leveled gold.

Notes
* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
