Oblivion talk:Fanacasecul
Where is the detail map of the exterior? I only see the interior map (zone 1) and a legend. — Unsigned comment by 24.70.95.204 (talk)
- It hasn't been created yet. The original focus when updating these place pages (see Oblivion Places Redesign Project) was on creating the interior maps. Gradually the exterior maps are being filled in, but the work definitely is not done :) --NepheleTalk 22:15, 14 January 2008 (EST)
Fanacasecul does contain one Khajiit bandit (I'm pretty sure, didn't stay long enough to find out) that I know of. I plan on doing more exploring in that area, and as soon as I do, I'll update you readers. [ra'kilmani]
- As the page says, outside the entrance there is a bandit camp, where it is possible for a Khajiit bandit to appear. And if you enter the dungeon while the bandit is chasing you, then you would meet him inside the dungeon. I don't see that there's anything incorrect in the article. --NepheleTalk 01:07, 2 February 2008 (EST)
I was at Level 4, and exploring the perimeter of the ruins, in the water just off the Bandit Bedroll area, around where the Ring of Destruction is marked on the map. A Nord Archer Bandit began to attack me from the Bedroll platform when he promptly fell into the water and had the good sense to die. I don't know if the fall killed him or if he drowned, but he must have been low on health to begin with. Both Mudcrabs on the shore were already slain; I'm assuming he had fought them previously and had taken damage. 76.11.82.60 15:09, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
- Bandits, especially archers, do not have high health to begin with, especially if you are on a low level. He may have also been killed by slaughterfish in the water. It's nothing surprising really. --Itachi 15:13, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
french translationEdit
i don't know if anyone noticed that, but "fanacasecul" can be translated as "fanabreaksass" or "fanaassbox" in french.don't know if this has been done on purpose tough :D J'ri-dar 18:46, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- I don't think that is relitive to the article but if you were to find something it should go to Lore:etymology|this article.--Corevette789 18:50, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, but "case" and "casse" don't sound the same. "Casse-cul" wouldn't exactly be appropriate on the etymologies either. I think it's simply a random coincidence. --SerCenKing Talk 19:01, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
landscape bugEdit
it may be worth mentioning a landscape bug that can occur here: an entire square of exterior land (including most of the exterior and the entrance to fanacasecul) disappears, leaving a square hole to fall into... can be triggered by adding a mod (often UOP) or low system resources when loading the area
...it ISNT permanent, you just have to save, quit completely, then restart the game and re-load to get it back to normal. i fast traveled back to the location after all that and it was fine, good as new. THIS IS USEFUL to add to the page for people who are stuck or think it is caused by something and could be added to a "bugs" section at the end. good idea? — Unsigned comment by 86.159.158.26 (talk) on 15 June 2010
- This isn't unique to Fanacasecul—I've had this happen in any number of areas. As you say, saving and restarting seems to always fix it. Can I suggest adding it to the Proposed Glitches page? ‒ Robin Hood↝talk 17:40, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
It's a bit late now, but this time it happened to me; the right "section" of fanacasecul exterior disappeared (the one WITHOUT any loot, not the one with the bedroll), but step-wise: After my about 4th visit, the sea roses in the Water start to fade away as I come closer (ONLY WITH THE UNOFFICIAL Patch 3.2.0) and now, after like 20 Visits there (I love to troll the 2 Bandits that spawn there), the Pillars and everything vanished, and even more disappeared over time. When closing and restarting, it's all back to normal, but not the Sea Roses, they stay "bugged". Also, the Sea Roses (or 'Sacred Lotus' in the Game, where I live them things are called Sea Roses) only show that behaviour in Fanacasecul, no other place is buggy like that. But why is it only buggy when using the Unoffical Patch? I also got SI and the UO Patch for that one.178.4.239.20 08:27, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Edit
As recently discussed on my user talk page, UOP mod author Arthmoor confirmed the Unofficial Oblivion Patch version (2.1.0) that edited the Ayleid statics outside Fanacasecul resulting in the moved stone blocks impacting the location of the Ring of Destruction - although Arthmoor noted the changes weren't specifically intended to make the ring easier to obtain.
