Harthir is a Wood Elf priest and acolyte of St. Martin who assists Neremus Agrecian at the saint's cathedral in Bruma.
True to his calling, after a quick, one-hour breakfast, Harthir can be found attending to his duties in the cathedral's main hall from 9am to 4pm and then in the undercroft until 7pm. After some dinner and relaxing in the chapel hall, at 9:30pm he will head outside for a stroll, before heading to his bed at midnight.
Harthir wears a monk's red robes and a matching pair of boots. He carries the Restoration skill book 2920, Rain's Hand, v4, a draught of the healer potion, the key to the cathedral, and a random selection of gold, lockpicks, rings, food and drink. While unarmed, he is able to cast the spells Circle of Protection, Fast Healing and Healing Hands.
DialogueEdit
Harthir's fervor is evident upon first meeting him:
- "Look up, traveler, and thank Saint Martin for the blue sky, for without His sacrifice, you would instead look upon the skies of Oblivion."
If you ask him why he became an acolyte he will explain:
- "To ask me why I became an acolyte of Saint Martin is to ask why thunder strikes, why rain falls, or why the wolf hunts. It is because this is what comes naturally to me."
If you appear perplexed he will go on:
- "You seem confused. Allow me to explain further. We all follow a path through life. We all desperately attempt to influence it to go a certain way or lead us to a certain destination. Others desperately attempt to steer it away from a destination. The amount of influence we can exert upon that path varies, but is invariably limited. In many ways we must all make the most of what life gives us, and adapt to its trials accordingly. Without boring you with specifics, it would be appropriate to say that my life so far has taught me many lessons of sorrow and grief. I have constantly been set back, and my attempts to change my course have always been met with bitter resistance by the winds of life. It is through Saint Martin's example that I truly find my inspiration to become more than I am. It is in this that I am enlightened, and hope to be reborn."
ConversationsEdit
Harthir and his master can be overheard conversing:
Neremus: "Oh, there you are."
Harthir: "Priest Neremus! I'm sorry, I didn't know you were looking for me."
Neremus: "That's alright, Initiate. I just wanted to ask - how are you faring with your duties?"
Harthir: "Well, for today, I tidied up the undercroft, prepared the shrines for Sundas service, scrubbed the floors..."
Neremus: "Indeed? That's remarkable. I don't even remember asking you the last one."
Harthir: "I aim to please, Priest Neremus. Both you and St. Martin."
Neremus: "Well, you certainly are the most devoted acolyte I've ever seen. I'm sure St. Martin appreciates your service as much as I. Carry on."
BugsEdit
- Harthir was meant to have an exchange with Gryfard Peton, but the two will never cross paths:
- Harthir: "Eight blessings upon you, tradesman. Priest Neremus sent me to retrieve some robes for the Chapel."
- Gryfard: "Huh? Oh - right! he spoke to me earlier. Let me look... ...You know, I always thought priests wove their own robes. Humility and all that. What happened?"
- Harthir: "I do not understand, good sir. We have always purchased our clothing from local tradesmen, to please Zenithar. Are you accusing us of impiety?"
- Gryfard: "No, of course not! I was just...oh, nevermind. I'm sorry. Here...here is your order, sir."
- Harthir: "...I thank you." ?
