DialogueEdit

Elintius will cheerily greet you:

"Elintius Rentilia, master Alteration...ist of the Synod here in Bruma, at your service."
"Greetings, my friend! Welcome! Welcome to the Bruma Synod Conclave! I'm Elintius Rentilia, Alteration trainer, spell-seller and your humble servant."
"Good to see you again, friend! What can ol' Elintius do for you?"

If you notice his good mood, he concurs:

"Why shouldn't I be? I'm in the cosmopolitan heartland of the Empire, working in a Synod Conclave with a warm hearth and good pay. What more could I ask for?"

If you decide to take him upon his offer to sell spells, he mutters:

"Ah, that. Well, I could, but... I can't."

If you ask him to elaborate, he explains:

"Well, I know advanced spells, but I'm not authorized to teach them. Rules from on high. We're not allowed to teach magic to anyone who hasn't proven themselves responsible enough to handle it. And by that they mean, anyone who isn't a high-ranking member of the Synod."

If you ask what goes on in the Conclave, he replies:

"Not very much, truth be told. Cadius can tell you the official jargon better than I, but... Suffice it to say we're quite comfortable and we provide a much-needed, if thankless, service. We are the face of the Synod, you see. Our presence here in Bruma gets magic into the psyche of the common man. Surely that can only be a good thing?"

Inquire about the Synod's rival organisation, the College of Whispers, and he admits:

"They're another organization similar to ours. Sadly, we're not on good terms. Sometimes I wonder to myself if it wouldn't be better to just form an alliance with them... But then I remember such talk will get me kicked out of the Synod, and then I shut my mouth. And, speaking of shutting my mouth..."

NotesEdit

  • Despite naming himself an "Alteration trainer", Elintius does not actually provide any training services.

BugsEdit

  • The voice type for Elintius's hello and goodbye lines is different to the voice type for his other dialogue lines. ?

ConversationsEdit

While in Bruma, you may overhear Elintius converse with Ananril, Cadius Venucius, Roland Wickhart or Reln-Tei:

Elintius: "Good day to you Ananril! Sales are going well, I trust?"
Ananril: "Ah, Elintius! It's always delightful to have you stopping by. Sales are as high as ever, thank you!"
Elintius: "You know, I would love it if you accompanied me whenever I get another expedition assigned to me from Cadius. If I can be so bold, I think we could both use a vacation."
Ananril: "I would love to Elintius, but I'm not so sure your boss would want me there."
Elintius: "Well, then I'll just have to talk to him about that won't I? I'll talk to you later!"
Ananril: "Goodbye!"

Elintius: "Good day to you, Cadius!"
Cadius: "Same to you, Journeyman. Was there something you needed?"
Elintius: "I'm curious, what's the status of the situation brewing at Underpall Cave? The rumors of necromancers there don't seem to have ceased. In truth, they might have actually have grown worse."
Cadius: "I'll send someone to investigate the situation as soon as I am able. I appreciate your concern, Journeyman."

Roland: "Elintius, you got a free minute?"
Elintius: "Always for a fellow mage, Roland."
Roland: "Well, I was curious about the Journeyman level Electrocution spell you showed me the other day. For instance, let's say I tried to cast it myself and it didn't cast quite the way yours did..."
Elintius: "You shocked yourself, didn't you Roland? I wondered why it smelt of burnt hair in the conclave!"
Roland: "Well... yes."
Elintius: "Don't you worry, we'll find a good, secluded, area of the Jeralls later to practice in, my friend. We'll make sure you stop singeing your... features."

Reln-Tei: "Excuse me, good mage, but can you spare a coin?"
Elintius: "Oh, hello Reln. I'm sorry, but I don't have any septims on me at the moment. These robes don't exactly have lots of pockets, you know!"
Reln-Tei: "Do you have any food at least? Everything helps."
Elintius: "Hrm, I do have this... er concoction I worked up recently. It's safe, and it doesn't taste too bad. It's useless to me if you want it. You may be able to sell it at least."
Reln-Tei: "Eh, thanks. Enjoy your day."
