Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Alammu's AncestorsEdit
Upon visiting the Jerall View Inn, a young Dark Elf, Alammu Nethre, will approach you and ask for help in retrieving a family heirloom that was recently stolen. She tells you the thief fled to Frozen Grotto, in the far northeast of County Bruma and promises a reward for the return of her prized possession.
From Bruma, head to the Eastern Watchtower and then take the road south, pressing on past Toadstool Hollow. Once you arrive at Greenwood, head east and cross the river using the wooden planks over the ruined Ayleid bridge. The dirt track on the opposite end carries you past Anga and a minotaur camp. Keep pressing east, past The Beast's Maw and Lakeside Retreat, and along the lake road heading east. Follow this as it winds up the mountain face to the north and then head east at Silver Tooth Cave. At Sedor take the southern road and follow this past an unmarked Nordic ruin, turning northeast at Gutted Mine.
Beloth's BlackmailEdit
The grotto itself is a small lair, with a table, chairs, a bedroll and a few crates and chests. No one seems to be home, so inspect the chest near the crates, which turns out to be empty. As soon you turn round you are greeted by Neldam Beloth, Alammu's partner in crime. It turns out there is no heirloom, just a suspicious parcel that Neldam needs delivering to Alammu in Bruma. He strongly suggests you act as a mule for them, or else.
At this point, you have a number of options:
- Killing Neldam is possible but is a very tough fight; as he will tell you, he's laced his blade with a potent poison, so try using sneak.
- Opening the parcel will fail the quest but yield you five skooma portions. If you are still in the grotto or if you then return, Neldam will attack you. Opening the package in front of Alammu also won't elicit a response, although she will then disappear from the game.
- Delivering the parcel to Alammu will net you a simple thank you and goodbye.
- If you report the blackmail to guard captain Adius Vilius or a regular Bruma guard, they will mention that they've been keeping an eye on this smuggling ring for a while and race off to the inn to arrest Alammu. Come along for the show and to collect some leveled gold (see below) from as a reward.
Levels | Reward |
---|---|
1–9 | 250 |
10–19 | 400 |
20–29 | 500 |
30–39 | 600 |
40+ | 750 |
NotesEdit
- If you return the "heirloom" to Alammu, both she and Neldam will then disappear from the game.
- If you chose to expose the blackmailers, Alammu will relocate to one of the Castle Bruma prison cells. Neldam will disappear from Frozen Grotto but will randomly ambush you later in the game along with three thugs.
Quest StagesEdit
Alammu's Veil (CYRBrumaMS01) | ||
---|---|---|
Stage | Finishes Quest | Journal Entry |
10 | I was approached in Bruma by a Dunmer woman who seemed very distressed about her missing heirloom and offered me a reward for its safe return. I should head to Frozen Grotto to retrieve the heirloom.
Objective 10: Retrieve Alammu Nethre's heirloom from Frozen Grotto
|
|
20 | The 'heirloom' was a ruse. I was approached by the Dark Elf Neldam Beloth in Frozen Grotto. He wants me to take the 'heirloom' - actually contraband - back to Alammu Nethre, his contact. This was all an elaborate smuggling ring. I could report the crime to the city watch or I could go along with their scheme. I could also kill Neldam Beloth, if I so desired - though I sense he will prove a formidable opponent.
Objective 20: (Optional) Deliver the contraband to Alammu Nethre
Objective 30: (Optional) Report the blackmail to the city watch
Objective 35: (Optional) Open the package
Objective 40: (Optional) Kill Neldam Beloth
|
|
27 | The 'heirloom' was a ruse. I can return the heirloom to Alammu, or report her to a member of the Bruma city watch. Or perhaps I could simply open the contrband [sic] and keep the contents for myself? | |
30 | I returned the contraband to Alammu Nethre, and she 'rewarded' me by sparing my life. | |
50 | I reported Alammu to the Bruma guards, and she was arrested. The smuggling ring is no more.
Objective 50: Follow the city guard and witness Alammu's arrest
|
|
100 | Alammu died before I could get to the bottom of her heirloom problem. | |
150 | I decided to look into the 'heirloom', and found some skooma. It's mine to keep, but I can no longer return the contraband to Nethre in its unsealed state. |
- The following empty quest stages were omitted from the table: 0, 5, 15, 23, 40, 41, 55, 56, 200.
- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
