Book SummaryEdit
Okay, the poem thing I can understand... but what's the need for the prev/next parameters? It's much more logical to have them at the bottom of the page since you'll probably want to read the book you're on before moving to another one. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 13:18, 4 August 2008 (EDT)
- Not necessarily. And there's no reason not to have it in both places. We do so already on quest pages. I can think of many times when it would have been useful (to me at least) to have such links at the top of the page - say when you're looking to complete the set and want to know where to find them. It uses a minimal amount of space, and I think it's a useful navigational tool. It also clearly indicates that a book is part of a series, something which is not always obvious from the title, (E.g. Oblivion:Warrior, Morrowind:Azura and the Box), and also clearly indicates the order in which they should be read, also not always obvious (E.g. the 2920 series I'm on right now - not everybody has memorized the order of ES months), so if you get a link to a middle book (from say, a merchant's page or a location where it can be found, etc.), you'll know you're starting in the middle and should go back if you want the whole story. --TheRealLurlock Talk 13:25, 4 August 2008 (EDT)
Artisa Arelas and special dialogEdit
" "Someone thinks the Masque of Clavicus Vile is here on Vvardenfell. Apparently there are many copies of 'N'Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis!' here on Vvardenfell. N'Gasta was a great Sload necromancer and servant of Clavicus Vile in the Second Era, and he may have had a wizard's tower here. An agent came to me asking questions about N'Gasta. The agent would not give his name, but I have learned he was in the employ of someone named Sorkvild the Raven".
The Npc is Artisa Arelas, Dunmer Pilgrim in the Abbey of St. Delyn, in Vivec. When asked about latest rumors, she has a 50% chance of saying this. " --This was give to me in a forum PM, is she the only NPC that has this rumor? If so, it might be enough to give her a NPC page. --Benould•T•C 13:47, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
- It appears to be true. She actually has a good deal of dialogue specific to her, though most of it is general stuff about magic, geography, and other basic lore, which isn't necessarily unique to her, but only is shared by only a small group of people. (I.e. not class, race, or location specific, but dialogue given only and specifically to certain people.) That particular rumor is indeed unique. The only other mentions of Clavicus Vile I found (outside of books) were in relation to the Bitter Cup. I suppose it's enough to get her a page. Most of the other people who share her other name-specific dialogues already have pages, being spell-merchants or trainers or what-not. --TheRealLurlock Talk 13:56, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
Ald'ruhn Council ClubEdit
Lurlock, why do you think we need a page for Ald'ruhn Council Club? As far as I know, there are no services offered there, no quests, and there's no connection to the Camonna Tong, only mention is in the Guide to Ald'ruhn. The Ald'ruhn Council Club has a few random NPCs, most of which are members of the Thieves Guild ;)
We could also get rid of the disambig, which would help because the only Council Club mentioned by anyone in-game is the one in Balmora, related to four quests and the most likely target of a users search. Thoughts? --Benould•T•C 14:45, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
- Well, we seem to have a page for every other bar and tavern in the game, even if there's no quest significance whatsoever. I just figured somebody would create it eventually. Doesn't matter much to me, but the place does exist, so it should probably be at least mentioned... --TheRealLurlock Talk 14:56, 8 August 2008 (EDT)
Slave BracersEdit
Whoopsie, didn't realize there was already an icon for those. I looked around (not too hard, obviously) and didn't find an existing image, so I uploaded my own. Thanks for the assist! – KJR1012 Talk Email Contribs 11:47, 12 August 2008 (EDT)
- No problem. You might want to check out Unused Files - there's several icons in there that aren't being used. Not sure if they're already duplicated or not, but that's one place to look. If you see any more duplicates, you might want to propose one for deletion. --TheRealLurlock Talk 13:15, 12 August 2008 (EDT)
M'aiq knows of knowledge unknown to himEdit
If a quick lesson could be crammed into your time, I would be most grateful. Would you leave a quick explaination on my talk page on the organisation, easy placement, creation and image selection of userboxes and a comparison to what I'm already doing with them? Most appreciated, -M'aiq the Liar
- The problem is that some of the images are slightly larger than others, which makes them not line up nicely. In particular, the Faction templates don't seem to like to play nicely with others. I'd fix them, but there's dozens of them - one for every rank of every faction in two games (which was always way more than I believed to be necessary...), and I don't really care enough to bother. I've found that a height of 40 pixels seems to work best. Of course, since you can't directly set the height, only the width, you'll need to tweak the numbers around, particularly on vertically oriented images. When all else fails, though, the easiest method by far to keep things nice and lined up is to put them in a table. That way it doesn't matter if some images are larger than others, because the table will take care of the gaps. --TheRealLurlock Talk 11:22, 21 August 2008 (EDT)
