When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:17, 18 June 2013 (GMT)
The Skyrim Play-stylesEdit
SO, I think that a varied, jack-o'-all-trades dude like in Skyrim is a great addition in the game. Instead of setting huge restrictions on us, we can choose to build our own character, albeit with some difficulty.
The races determine your first "class" separation. Although the initial boost to skills is vital, it can be overcome by all other races, over time. But other racial perks play a part in it. Altmer- Mages. Plain as that. Bosmer- Forester. Command Animal is useful only in there (or wherever there are animals.) Dunmer- Fighter. The fire abilities and fire resist count for that. Khajiit- Fighter. The claw damage is useful here. Also thief, as the starting bonuses and Night Eye power says so. Argonian- Fighter. Can effectively use water as an escape route, got claw damage and regeneration capacity. Orc- Fighter. Berserker rage turns the tide of most battles. Redguard- Fighter. The starting bonuses and abilities say so. Nord- Fighter. The greater power can give an advantage, and ice resist also helps, aminly in mage fights. Imperials- ?. I haven't tried them out, but thief may work out with them. Breton- Anti-mage. Useful in later levels to counter mages.
Seeing this, I was slightly discouraged. Like the other games, brute force did most of the talking, even though this game has a great capacity to implement unique strategies.
On further reflectionEdit
I tried Nord. It's quite common to roleplay a game as realistically as possible, so my character was a Nord who allied with the Stormcloak. He intimidated most guys who crossed paths with him, and was, in a way, generous with coin. Rarely did he try to sweet talk anyone. He also adopted a cold, quiet appearance while an assassin (you know what I mean).
Playing this character was quite different. He was, at heart, a thief/sword guy, he'll steal your coin and won't lose any sleep if he has to kill you for it. So, my actions led to hired thugs sent at me by Day 10. I learnt to my dismay that striking an opponent who was fleeing in fear (due to Battlecry) invokes the wrath of everyone nearby. I discovered magic during my wandering in the Hold of Whiterun, when I would cook a vampire with flame and strike with blade. Quite simple.
AdviceEdit
Hey Nikss! I noticed that you've been making a number of topics on your own talk page that don't seem to be strictly related to the content of the site. If you want to discuss the game and your experiences with it, you might want to check out our forums. The wiki side of the site is for cataloguing information about the games and discussing wiki-specific business, and every edit made has to be patrolled. Would you mind putting things like that up on the forums instead? Thanks! ThuumofReason (talk) 16:53, 26 June 2013 (GMT)
I'll take your word for it. Thanks for the advice. The Wrathen 02:57, 27 June 2013 (GMT)
