Finding treasure before questEdit
I started a new game and straight away went to Merryfair Farm and looked around the area. I found the area with the hollowed out tree but there was nothing in it so it seems like you can only get the treasure later on, although I'm not sure at what point.RIM 17:20, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- That sounds a bit odd - I just tested that annoying tree stump for waaaay too long, and here's what I came up with:
- After entering Dawnstar Sanctuary, but before buying the upgrades: No tree stump.
- After buying the upgrades but before talking to the torture victims: No tree stump.
- Before joining the Dark Brotherhood; No tree stump
- At the very beginning of the game: No tree stump.
- This basically means that the Riften tree stump does not exist (at all) before you have talked to the bride in the torture chamber. Because of your observations above, I'd really like you to double-check if you actually found the stump at the beginning of the game. --Krusty 00:18, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't really phrase it well, I meant I found the area where the tree was supposed to be but I couldn't press A to activate anything nearby. Unfortunately you can't get the 2000 gold at the start of the game. I'm guessing it will also be the same at the other locations as well. Sorry for any confusion.RIM 11:06, 23 December 2011 (UTC)
