Template talk:Showhide

ExplanationEdit

I think an explanation of this template would be useful. I've seen it used, and can just about use it myself, but I think I could gain more from reading about it from someone who knows more about it. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 08:41, 23 May 2008 (EDT)

I would assume it's similar to wikipedia's ShowHide template. But given that the person who wrote the template is no longer active, I doubt it's possible to get much more information than that. --NepheleTalk 22:24, 9 June 2008 (EDT)

Functionality issuesEdit

Not sure if it's a problem with my system or something wrong with the template, but I am not getting the show/hide option. All I see is the header text and none of the content. (Example below) --Enodoc (talk) 12:21, 4 September 2012 (EDT)

OK thanks. All working now. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, my Watchlist was not emailing me changes to watched pages. --Enodoc (talk) 14:09, 14 September 2012 (GMT)

Show button clashingEdit

Currently the show button will display on top of the title string for small browser width. I tried to fix that, but only came up with a solution to reserve a fixed pixle width (45px in the example) for the show button. I there anything better we can do? Anyway I think it's still an improvement if we cannot come up with something better.

Some long text: jjgh hghjhg hgjhg. This is the old show/hide behaviour, clashing for small browser width.

The only thing I can think of is a div within a div, or perhaps a table, where the outer element is set to width:auto or width:100%, but I'm not sure if that would work with the javascript. Robin Hood  (talk) 20:33, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
Yeah, that's another restriction. The current Javascript searches only the direct children of the NavFrame classed element for a NavHead classed one to add the button to. --Alfwyn (talk) 20:38, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
