Cistern Info?Edit
Currently the Cistern page redirects here (i.e. "Skyrim:The Ragged Flagon - Cistern" redirects to "Skyrim:The Ragged Flagon").
I think either a separate Cistern page should be made, or (my preference) the Cistern information should be added to this page, as it is currently missing. This would include relevant info such as NPCs living there, related quests, exits, and notable items, to match the format currently at this page.

Oops! I Messed up the pic.Edit
If someone with the time and knowledge see this while there is still no image on the page, please help me fix it by linking File:SR_place_Ragged_Flagon01.jpg to the page. Thanks. --Jreynolds2Talk 15:58, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- That's been fixed. Thanks Legoless. --Jreynolds2Talk 16:33, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
EtienneEdit
Does the annotation about Etienne coming here if rescued during Diplomatic Immunity make it a related quest (or otherwise justify adding a link to the quest somewhere on this page)? --Jreynolds2Talk 03:12, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
Are the chests re-spawn safe?Edit
that is, can I stow stuff in a chest safely without worrying of the game cleaning it out arbitrarily? Looking for a temporary place to stow things until I buy a house. Armahillo 17:55, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- You should be able to find what you're looking for here. Hope that helps. Alphabetface 18:23, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- To above comment, no that is not helpfull. More like saying "idk". I use the guild chest and drawers alot, although i am in and out frequently though. — Unsigned comment by 71.123.205.9 (talk) on 20 March 2012
- I'm going to guess that because The Ragged Flagon isn't listed as a "Safe Location" on the article Alphabetface linked to, the containers there aren't safe. Use at your own risk ;). –Eshetalk 14:35, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- It specifically says on the Ragged Flagon page that the area never respawns and is therefore safe for storage. I'm playing on Xbox360, and the Ragged Flagon DID respawn, causing me to lose a ton of items. Fortunately, I had a previous save to fall back on. The page needs to be changed so that it no longer says the Flagon never respawns. 68.102.76.133 03:48, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

(←) The Cistern area does respawn, so I assume the problem you're having is because you're using containers in that area, rather than the zone detailed on this page. ABCface◥ 14:17, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
- The Cistern area itself does respawn, but the chests labeled "Guild Chest" and the drawers labeled "End table" don't respawn so the cistern is a great place to call home so long as you dont require an enchanting table.71.181.102.88 02:35, 25 December 2012 (GMT)
Note about additional Thieves Guild Armor - incorrect?Edit
Page currently says: a full set of Thieves Guild Armor in the training room, plus additional boots and gloves next to your bed (as of Patch 1.4). I'm pretty sure these items only appeared after I completed some special quests to improve the guild. I think it was only after the 2nd one (of 4), but I might be mistaken. Also, there weren't just additional boots and gloves next to my bed, there were boots, gloves, and the hat, of that I am 100% sure. Gloves and hat were on the floor to the bed's left (facing wall) and boots were to the bed's right. Perhaps the person who wrote this accidentally kicked the hat under the bed. I wanted more confirmation before updating the information. (XBox 1.4) --Amsuko 04:42, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- If you could find the hat, feel free to add it to the article. I knew from the CK that it was supposed to be around there somewhere, but it might have glitched through the floor or something for me -- I definitely checked under the bed several times. Also with another character, I didn't notice the hat (that was when I first saw the boots/gloves, and didn't yet know that they were a new addition, so I didn't search for more items at that time). So I suspect the hat might be placed in a location that tends to be glitchy.
- As for when they appear, as of patch 1.4 they are there as soon as you join the guild. I confirmed the locations with a character who had just joined minutes earlier. They might have first appeared for you after completing some special quests because you hadn't downloaded the patch yet -- or because it was the first time since downloading the patch that you had stayed away from the cistern for 10 days, thus allowing the cistern's contents to respawn. --NepheleTalk 05:03, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- I definitely had the patch for awhile, I'm guessing your last statement might be the explanation, - not because I had been away, but perhaps the upgrades to the Cistern (due to quest completion) caused a respawn/reset. If this helps: When you approach the bed, the boots are near the pillow-area (right side) and the gloves are near the pillow area (left side). The hat was near the "thigh-area" (on the floor, directly next to the bed, but about two-thirds down from the pillow-area). Of course, that was just my experience, so I'm not confident that's the spawn location. I will add the hat. --Amsuko 23:19, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- CK shows the hat as being on the floor next to the bottom left corner of the bed when looking top-down at it. It appears flat in the CK, so it could have been missed. --Velyanthe 00:30, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Proposed text revisionEdit
I propose, (especially to Velyanthe):
The Ragged Flagon is a bar that is part of the Thieves Guild's headquarters.
It is located within Riften's sewer network and can be accessed through the Ratway. After joining the Thieves Guild, quicker access becomes available through the headquarter's secret entrance, which opens from Riften directly into The Ragged Flagon - Cistern.
Together, the two zones constitute the headquarters of the Thieves Guild.
What do you think? Your version and my previous are both perfectly fine grammatically, so if there's a problem with either, it's a stylistic one. I can explain in precise detail why I think "...sewer network serving..." is problematic, if you are interested. :p --JRTalk E-mail 17:40, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
- I hope you don't mind me italicizing the revision part of your comment, I completely missed it at first and altered the wording of the page in a different way. Go ahead and place it in, I see no problem with it.
Bug with merchant level after installing dawnguardEdit
Before installing Dawnguard I was like level 55 or 56 and had completed all of the thieves guild special jobs to unlock all of the merchants. All of the smiths would regularly have ebony and occasionally daedric gear, the alchemist would always have elixers, and tonilia would almost always have daedric stuff. After installing dawnguard it seems the merchant levels reset and now everyone has only dwarven and if im lucky some orcish stuff, and the alchemist no longer sells elixers. This has pretty much rendered the flaggon merchants completely useless to me at my current level. Ive also leveled up a few times since this happened and waited for the merchants chests to restock in hopes that it would fix itself but it has not.
Anyway Im wondering if anybody could help me with some console commands or something that might fix the level of the flaggon merchants back to my current level so I can make use of these merchants again? Im actually playing on xbox but I can email a friend of mine my save game and he somehow converts it to pc then uses console commands and converts it back for me, I just have no idea what commands would fix this issue. 71.181.102.88 21:44, 24 December 2012 (GMT)
- Playing on XBox 360 more recently, in a game where Dawnguard was installed with the get-go, and I'm seeing this issue as well -- can't say specifically it was due to Dawnguard, but it's nice to know it's not just me. 73.52.70.229 16:27, 25 July 2018 (UTC)
Note about extra roomEdit
I added this so that modders will hopefully stop being yelled at for modifying the flagon when it was the USKP that added it. As over 2 million people have downloaded those patches it can be a problem. Also, this wiki always posts when USKP fixes a bug so stating that they added a room shouldn't be off limits. Additionally, they viewed it as fixing (Bug #12618). Not sure if it was just to add beds to allow people to sleep or if it was just an incorrectly unimplemented part of the game. Either way, this is up to you admins. 173.51.247.17 11:51, 12 February 2014 (GMT)
- From what I gathered in this thread (the most I could find via Google), it sounds like the room is coded into the game and USKP just removed a blocking wall that shouldn't have been there.
- (P.S. I was glad to learn that it was the USKP that opened up this room and that I wasn't blind/going crazy in having never seen it before.) - Cartoonmaster (talk) 06:58, 6 March 2014 (GMT)
Buggy TorchEdit
To the right of the door to the Cistern from the Flagon is a torch bracket that keeps adds more torches without removing the old one, and the only way I've found to remove them is console. No mods, Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire are installed but turning them off did not stop it. Did any of the updates or patches fix this? More annoying than anything really, but it got REALLY bright before I figured out what was going on. KaidaThyme (talk) 23:36, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
