Skyrim talk:Creation Club Quests

Quest BeginningsEdit

I've sampled a handful of CC quest articles, and all that I looked at stated some variation of "Once you've installed this Creation, you will receive this quest". I play with mods that have them not do this, so forgive me if I am mistaken, but aren't they only added after completing Unbound? The wording seems to imply that the Creation is installed mid-playthrough, which is not always the case. -Dcsg (talk) 18:43, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

The wording refers to mid-playthrough, its what happens if you get the Creation and load up a game on an existing character. If you create a new character after buying a Creation, the quest begins immediately after finishing Unbound (or leaving Helgen Keep caves, though they're probably one in the same). The difficulty here is that there will be three ways of starting these quests:
  1. Upon installation (existing playthrough).
  2. Upon exiting Helgen (new playthrough).
  3. Upon buying Anniversary Edition (existing playthrough post-11.11).
I'm not too sure how best to word this. We could look at how it was done for Oblivion DLCs perhaps, but there are a lot of quest pages that need to be changed here. Personally I think we should wait to see how these quests are implemented in Anniversary Edition—they may no longer all trigger upon exiting the tutorial. —Legoless (talk) 07:53, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

() Cartogriffi has been kind enough to supply us with the below data on the changes coming with Anniversary Edition. He had this to say about the changes: "As noted in our announcement, Creation Club content no longer has a quest pop up when leaving Helgen. Most content is encountered organically in the wild, although in a few cases the courier will deliver notes to you. We will be updating the store descriptions for all items to reflect this. However, we also imagine a lot of folks will search for this online, and wanted to provide the updated instructions."

Suffice to say, it looks like we will need to wait for 11.11 to see how these changes are implemented in-game before we can update our articles. To me it sounds like some of the "pointer" quests are going to be outright removed to allow for the content to be encountered naturally. We may need to look at how to handle some of the deprecated current info if that is the case.
